How do you think the discussion went between Brad and the Flames scouts?

I half expected either Hickey or Jankowski would also be involved. Still can't believe all it took were picks.

Wow...hes got Lowe's signature line down already, this guy is sharp!
I presume that hes at the draft 'Big Game Hunting?'

You'd think Chiarelli would have better things to do today than posting on message boards.

I bought beer to drink during the draft ... should I just drink it all now?

One of the greatest days for Flames fans honestly. We paid up draft picks for a proven defenseman who could very well be our #1D.
Brodie and Hamilton as pairing is going to be entertaining.

Just because Sweeney had you on hold for an hour and a half doesn't mean you were right in the middle of it, Pete.

I assume Tod Button's reaction was something similar to this...

I am. Listening to Fan 960 sitting on my deck.
Today rocks. Plus now I can watch football tonight instead of the draft.

Just a question. Now that CGY has Hamilton, can someone else offer him ridiculous money/term and we can choose to match or get the picks.
Does Hamilton actually have to sign the target offer sheet, or does he negotiate in good faith with the Flames on a reasonable deal.
Can EDM or another team screw with us just to mess with our cap?

Yes that can happen, but Calgary should be able to sign him before the date that can happen: July 1st

They can after July 1st. But I guarantee he'll be locked up before then. Maybe even by the end of today.

He doesn't need to sign anything he doesn't want to.
If the Oil offers him $9m for 7 years and he says no, it makes no difference tot he Flames.

Yes anyone can sign him to an offer sheet on July 1st.
Same rules of offer sheet apply, Flames can match or get compensation in terms of pick.
As always a player actually has to choose to sign an offer sheet. A team making a ridiculous offer doesn't mean he is automatically signed.

Really like Hamilton. I remember when the Bruins were saying he was their future, Captain material, etc. They were right, he's a good quality guy. Can't wait for the season to start!
