I actually wouldn't mind snagging Aulie to see if we could actually turn him into a D-man JUST to laugh at the Leafs and Oilers. I remember a lot of excitement around him when the trade first happened, am I thinking of the right guy?

Maybe not, but this lets them demote him to the AHL and add a body tomorrow. Then after the deadline tomorrow, they can bring him back up as a depth forward for a playoff run.

He was the insult added to injury in the Phaneuf trade. Remember thinking "and we tossed in a decent dman prospect?"

I think as we approach the trade deadline, we should make some sureLoss specific rules.

Let sureLoss post the new threads and new rumours from the usual Twitter accounts because he's going to beat you anyways. Don't devote the first 10 posts in each new thread to praising how fast sureLoss is. He's amazing and we're lucky to have him.

No need to bog down the forums on the busiest and thus slowest day of the year.

Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger
Teams are calling the Flyers looking for D. Philly is listening and interested in moving money and making trades.

Okay so he addressed the bottom pairing D and moved Glencross. Let's see what Trelving does now to actually improve the team if anything

Eric Duhatschek @eduhatschek
Question: If the cost of prying loose a serviceable Dman from Flyers is taking on Vinny Lecavalier's contract, would/should Calgary do it?

Have the Flames been linked to any other rumours besides Glencross? There seems to be a lot of random thoughts but no legitimate rumors. Then again, no one knew about this Glencross to Washington deal either.

Answer: Yes. Only 3 more years at $4.5M - easily swallowed by the Flames

Edit: also, could then look to move Stajan to ARI (possibly retaining some salary)

Wonder what it would take to get Coburn out of Philly. Tough year for injuries but seems like he would be a great fit and the Flames would have no trouble taking on his cap hit this year or next.

If we can move Stajan, having Vinny as our 4th line centre for the next 3 years for a little bit more money? Absolutely.

Yes, because we could then agree to retain half of it and flip him.

I don't see the harm if we tried. Would be nice to do something like Lecavalier and Philly's 1st for Ben Hanowski and Washington's 2nd.

Coburn and Lecavalier for Stajan/Raymond and a 3rd

Retain 1/2 on Lecavalier and flip him for a 2nd or late 1st. Make sure he stays out east though. Lecavalier at a 2.5 cap hit is an awesome player.

Edit: Looking at his stats, maybe he isn't awesome, but still a point every other game. At a 2.5 cap hit for a large center who can play the PP it's still a hell of a bargain.
