I think the Cup win against City bought him the rest of the season.

what a brainfart by Smalling.
I wonder who is going to play CB next week against Palace. The only healthy CBs left are McNair and Blackett, I believe.

Benteke with a red card for AVFC. There were two willing participants in that fight, if you're going to send Benteke off you have to send Mason off as well. Crappy call for Aston Villa, they are finally looking like they are finding their form and that happens.

Not only that, but he put his hand in his face because the other guy pushed his head into his face. Terrible, and now Tottenham have tied it.

I'm the absolute worst new fan. Decided this year to get into Premier league, picked Aston Villa after reading an article comparing Premier League teams to North American teams compared AVFC to the Calgary Flames. Since I've started to support them, they've had 6 consecutive defeats and only have scored 1 goal.
I guess no one will be able to say I was a bandwagon jumper.

Can you provide a link to the article?

2. Aston Villa
Last championship: 1980-81
Years in Premier League: 23/23
Nickname: Villians
Location: Birmingham
American players: GK Brad Guzan
Biggest rivals: West Bromwich Albion, Birmingham City (championship)
Comparisons: Chicago Bears, Calgary Flames
PST’s Premier League season preview
Great slogan, cool color scheme and some solid players: there are far worse teams to select than Aston Villa. Conceptually, Villa as a strong English side is appealing on a few levels and there’s history to prove the Birmingham team deserves a winner, but manager Paul Lambert has struggled as much as his predecessors and almost had the ignominy of seeing his club relegated for the first time in its history. He’s on the hot seat, and the return to health and form of Christian Benteke is a massive concern.

He doesn't really give a reason for the comparison, but I was like, meh, good enough. I was leaning towards them anyways before I read the article because I liked their history, was one of the most consistently decent clubs, and didn't seem to have an obnoxious fanbase or players everyone hated. Seemed like an easy team to like.

I dont think anyone besides Chelsea actually wants to be in the top 4 this season
City will make it be default
Spurs/Liverpool/Arsenal/United taking turns putting in garbage performances

ya but this happens every year with someone surpising being in the top 4 after 10-15 games, and the same teams end up in the top 6 or 7 every year
I don't think the table really even matters until after the christmas games
everyone has played everyone, not everyone has played everyone of the bottom 10 like Southampton so far
