Hilarious fact. The Flames still have more regulation wins than the mighty Oilers!!!

If we keep a couple of players and use the cap space wisely in the offseason, I can see us competing for the playoffs in 2 seasons.
This all depends on how we use our assets because at the time, the Oilers didn't have a crazy lot after Smyth

I don't think Sven is ready and Horak probably does not belong in the NHL. The Oilers will be a playoff team before we will, but that's okay. We just need to have a little patience.

And it would be fun to see them get absolutely demolished by Chicago in the first round.

I guess. They played together the year before and for a few games the Galchenyuk was healthy for.

^^ True... and even games where they didn't play together they'd have been on the same PP unit or put together at key points.

And then in '06, it was a blast being in Edmonton for their Cup run.
That said, I'd have a major issue with them getting another no. 1 pick, especially at the expense of the Flames.

Indeed.

I personally think you're wrong on both counts.

Fair enough. Would love it if that were the case. Just out of curiosity, do you actually believe that Sven is physically ready for the NHL right now?

Sven needs to learn how to use his size in the NHL and not against him in the NHL. The only way to do that IMO at this point is to play in the NHL. Now is the time. Flames are not going to make the playoffs, he can make his mistakes and learn now. Same goes for Horak.

Interesting to note. Only Svens picture is up on the borders of the Flames website. I know there was some discussion as to why there hasnt been any player pics for the last couple of months.

The OOT scoreboard has been very kind to those hoping for a higher draft pick.

I will be amused when the Flyers sneak into 8th and knock out the Pens. Adding Bouwmeester and Sarich would put them over the top...

Here's hoping all those playoff hopefulls get as many point as they can before Wednesday. The more false hope and hesitation about selling off, the better market for the Flames in trading away their assets.
