In Quebec it costs parents $7 dollars a day, which is great for the parents that used it. In reality it costs about $15000 per child/ per year for the government to run this program. No wonder the government has $160 Billion in debt to pay off and insane taxes.
This type of thing kills me because I prefer less government involvement in my life, not more. I rather they lower taxes and let me decide what to do with the money. The conservatives are not perfect in this regard, not even close, but they are the best of the bunch right now.

So parents who work get free daycare and $100/month? I'm definately not in favor of a child care program especially at $16 billion per year. If you chose to or have to go back to work it's up to you to pay for child care. The Liberals are upset spending $30 billion over several years for jets, but this would cost us $160 billion over ten years.
And Quebec loves their daycare plan because they have no worries about running up their provincial debt.

If the Liberals are so concerned about the well-being of these children perhaps they should consider paying down some of the debt burden they are bestowing on them by implementing these ridiculous programs.

From SebC/Macgruber
Conservative government (Mulroney) -> deficit
Liberal government (Chretien/Martin) -> surplus
Conservative government (Harper) -> deficit

Increased standard of living, buying power, life expectancy and gross employment would say otherwise.
But depends on your metrics, obviously.

Yeah let's completely ignore the largest financial crisis since the 1930's and that bailouts were handed out across the globe. Let's also ignore that Canada under a Conservative government was an economic leader among developed nations.

In short, slash transfer payments for health care ect to the provinces, which means the provinces go into debt to maintain services, and dipped into the EI. Amazing work.
