Dennis Cholowski
Dallas' 2020 1st (top 10 protected)
$3.0m in cheese
This was by far the most I've been contacted about a player. I didn't expect half as many inquiries. I had a deal that was seemingly set but then got cancelled at the last minute, after I had just declined numerous GMs offers. Returning to GMs that you just rejected wasn't fun but the Stars and I were able to eventually wrap this up.
I think the Red Wings have the oldest top 4 in the league. Cholowski played just over half of last season and I'd guess he gets a full time spot very soon, especially with 3 expiring contracts next summer in Motown.
The 1st is protected, allowing the Stars to defer to their 2021 pick if it ends up being a top 10 choice in 2020.
Apologies to the GMs who I made wait so long and thanks to Turd for the deal.

To Vancouver
Clayton Keller
To Pittsburgh
Brady Tkachuk
2020 2nd (wsh)
This deal was a tough one to make. I really like Keller, and I didn’t have any plans to move him especially with Kessel coming to Arizona. I think Keller puts up 70+ points. Ottawa is a tire fire but I also think Tkachuk is an extremely good player. He will be the go to guy on that team for many years. I think this deal will be Keller’s offensive upside vs Tkachuks grit and all around game. Who knows what the sim will think.
I am trying to build a team with more grit and more well rounded players. Not sure the sim will like the mix. But with Domi, Gallagher, Landeskog, Shaw and Tkachuk up front this team shouldn’t be easy to play against.

I figured Dumba would be the guy to go for some reason. Will be interesting to see how Morrissey steps up after the loss of Trouba.

I had a few messages about him instead of JM so this story might be "to be continued"

The Sharks finally moved on from Michael Backlund tonight and traded him to the St. Louis Blues. Backlund was always a solid C for the Sharks and helped lead us to the playoffs. But at a $8mill cap hit and a pending UFA we looked at options to move him. The trade breaks down like this:
To St. Louis:
Michael Backlund
2020 2nd (nyr)
To San Jose:
Mats Zuccarello
In Zuccarello we get a 2OV upgrade for 2019-20 but also an extra year on his deal at a cap hit of $6mill. We hope he can stay healthy and light it up in Dallas, if not, we don't come out looking very good in the deal. It's sad to see Backlund go and we wish him all the best in St. Louis.
Zuccarello is no stranger to San Jose and has been involved in a couple of blockbusters in recent years. We hope that this time we actually win one of the Zuccarello deals!
Thanks DropIt for the deal.

The Islanders trade nobody to no-one for nothing, and personally we think that's bull####, so we'd appreciate it if someone would make us an offer for something.
