This is such low-hanging fruit for WWE and Dom to start using a refreshed 'Latino Heat' moniker too... nuclear heat for him to assume that one...

It's crazy since Dom was reviled as a face when teaming with his Dad. What an amazing turnaround he's had. Dom looks much better (fitter) in 2024 as well. He deserves all the credit in the world, and he's only 27!

The crazy thing about the WWE is how youthful the main event and upper mid card feels.
Wikipedia tells me this is a lie, but my gut tells me otherwise.

Most of their main event guys are pushing 40 or over, no?
Reigns/Rhodes/Punk/Priest/McIntyre/Gunther/Usos . . . . Am I missing anyone?

Kevin Ownes, L.A Knight, A.J Styles, Sammy Zayne.
Like I said, I know it isn't true. No less it all feels fresh.

Some of those names have been around a long, long time. Overexposure has been an issue for me in WWE, but I understand others feel differently.

We've talked about it before. A lot of my enjoyment over the last 16 months has come from the fact that I pretty well quit watching regularly after 2014. I mean, I'd tune in or recap good feuds, or watch summer slam, WrestleMania of whatever, but I pretty well switched to watching Lucha Underground and then Dynamite.
Naturally things are going to feel more fresh for me. No less, I havent been excited to watch Randy Orton Wrestle basically ever, but I am really stoked for the main event of Bash in Berlin.

I think the reason is that the booking is now just MUCH, MUCH better since Vince left and Trips is in full charge again. It feels like he's running the Black and Gold NXT era (which was my fave incarnation of WWE ever), but across the main shows now. I do admit that the current iteration of NXT is too cheesy / social media influence-y for my liking though.
Trips has really turned WWE around, and for the better - it DOES feel fresh now. I started watching again last summer with the rise of LA Knight and since then it's just been damn good booking. Sure there's boring storylines here and there (Sheamus and Dunne for one thing; Pure Fusion Collective is stupid), but there's more awesome these days than not. And this is coming from someone that absolutely loves AEW as well and watches that every week.

My only complaint about WWE, and I never would have noticed if Cornette didn't point it out, is that they cut to commercial when the Heel is getting heat and then when they cut back it is right into the baby face's hope spot. You miss most of the Heel's work and it kinda doesn't give the momentum it should.

Still can't get into it, lots of those characters are legacy leftovers from the Vince era that got overexposed. To me, it's rehashing guys who's been in the limelight too long and I just can't do it.
Also, 'pure fusion' is an oxymoron. What an incredible stupid name.

I think what we can all agree on though, is how good it is to have several healthy large companies (WWE, AEW, TNA, NJPW, AAA) these days, as well as a plethora of independent orgs around the world, and how good that is for the business. The more competition the better, and that only makes everyone elevate their game.
My only wish is that NJPW returns to the strong brand it used to be - they've taken an absolute BEATING losing stars to other organizations, as well as age.

While this is true, they have some of tomorrow's stars in the fold today. Yota Tsuji, Ren Narita, Shota Umino, Gabe Kidd, and my personal favorite El Phantasmo, who is going to be a real get once his contract comes up.

It's irritating that Roman is "out" a few weeks, so won't make the show in Edmonton. I would hope Jacob Fatu will be there, but who knows what the international policy is for him. Those would be the main two selling points for me, other than LA Knight. Orton is also on Raw, so if anything he might end up on the Calgary show.
Roman owes me! I once went to a house show where he was in the main event. After the show my friends talked me into going to Diamonds strip club because Reigns was supposed to be there post show. Yet this was all a ruse and he never showed. A $450 lap dance and $200 bar tab later... I'm out $650 Roman! If the Uso's were on that show I bet they would have been there.
Don't forget you played for the Eskimos! Edmonton is your home away from home.

The idea of meeting Roman Reigns at the strippers is hilarious.

It was advertised at the time, that he would be making an appearance after the show. Maybe it was a gag, but we're talking 10+ years ago now, before he was married in 2014.
He had a great match on that card as well against Daniel Bryan. The promoters gave us free drinks and a Hummer limo. It made for a wild night, but alas no Roman. I see your point nowadays, but that was the first and only time I've ever been to a strip club. It was a depressing place to be. I felt like Forrest Gump with those girls who smelled like cigarettes.

Just catching up on Dynamite now...and I say this as a Claudio Castignoli fan...but I continually do not understand how they are using Okada. They have really succeeded in making Okada just another guy.
A time limit draw with Claudio tonight (Ospreay, PAC, Swerve, and Hangman all beat Claudio clean in recent memory), Okada hasn't really had a marquee match or moment since officially signing, and it looks like he won't have a match at AEWs biggest show of the year.
I have no idea what the plan is with Okada...but this is not how I thought they'd use him at all.

Not only that, but they made him look like a little bitch with the way he was clinging onto the ropes at the end.

Great crowd tonight in Cardiff, and a hell of a go home show for All In. The Okada/Claudio match was good but I think there’s a match coming for All Out potentially. The Swerve /Danielson and MJF/Ospreay segments wrapped everything up nicely. Pretty pumped for Sunday morning!
