One interesting development on the weekend I found watching.
Friday’s game, Buck and Dan talked a lot about Davis Schneider‘s early success. Attributing a lot of it to his method of patience, waiting on the right pitch to hit, because his numbers are ridiculous right now from the middle and inside.
Saturday comes around, and Greinke pitches him exclusively on the outside of the plate. Davis goes 0 for 4 with three SOs.
They continued that method Sunday. Another 0 fer day for Davis, albeit he did grab two walks.
If other teams were paying attention, and just refuse to pitch him anything other than the far side, he’ll need to adapt. On the graph they showed he has yet to hit a ball that’s low right corner.

That's the benefit of scouting and video coaches micro analyzing everything. We should all temper our expectations with every rookie until they adapt to three or four seasons in the majors. The guy has had a great start but naturally that has led to focusing on his weaknesses early.

So Pitch-Com automatic ball nonsense costs us a lead off walk and a bloop to put Jays in trouble. Managers need to come out in that situation and explain technical issues. This should not be an automatic ball wtf

Woah. That was weird. Now that games have more meaning, and as we trend towards the playoffs, expect to see a lot more of "firsts" when it comes to the pitch clock.

That whole inning is on Schneider the manager. As soon as that ball was called he has to run out and say Technical issues to keep count as 0-1 and get the equipment fixed.

The Jays sure do miss a lot on 92 down the middle.
Would've been nice to let Bassitt rest a little more after a long inning.

Ah, the rare, but beautiful, 3-6-1 double play.

Oof. 4 pitch walk to the 8 hitter.
Bassitt has been good all season but this is where he runs into problems. Tries to outthink everyone. Sometimes you just need to challenge a bad hitter to hit you.
