I haven't heard anything (obviously, lol) but if Treliving leaves, I think the two realistic options are Darryl or Conny.
I think Darryl is the front runner (if he wants it) because Edwards loves him.
If Conny gets it, I doubt Edwards lets him fire Darryl.

Management as in people who owns the Flames, Edwards is not the sole owner of the team. People who have money invested in the team certainly understand that Sutter will bury this team further in any type of GM role thus lowering Flames value and their revenue. So as in people who have money invested in this team certainly are smarter than doing the dumbest thing

I do think brad did good with what happened last year on short notice, nobody expected huby to not light it up with 100+points so I don't know how much blame you put on brad except for not reading the johnny situation properly maybe?
Or is it just a move to make a big change if they fire him? part of me says give them 1 more season without having the big trade looming and there's no more "big change" excuse for huby's performance, because he is usually a 100 point player and chances are he we will get back to normal again

Brad's deal is up. He's not going to sign for just one year.

If Treliving walks we are in trouble.

Don Maloney is tied to Treliving and he will leave the Org the same time Treliving does in my opinion.
Conroy seems like the choice to me he was in the role when Feaster was here and kept during the Burke/Treliving era. I have no idea where Pascal is in terms of future in the org but the farm team has improved under him.
Murray, Futa, Lombardi would be at the top of my “Sutter approved” list. Murray already in the Org gives him the leg up.

Please no Sutter gm we won't have any skill or speed unless it's a magic unicorn built like Lindros which would not be available at any 10-16 pick

I must be living under a rock. I didn't realize that Sakic already made Chris MacFarland the GM of the Avs, so scratch his name off as a potential replacement.
Conroy would be interesting as there are a few other higher profile ex-NHLer from his era taking on GM/executive roles and being successful. Sakic, Yzerman, and Francis... possibly Mike Grier depending on how that goes. Scott Nichol and Mathieu Darche, not as high profile of course, are also working their way up in management these days.
I am not saying being from that class would make Conroy a good GM, but now might be the time to see. I mentioned it before, but I wonder how a guy like Conroy who seems nice right down to his soul, would handle having to make hard decisions on players and their lives. I don't know the guy personally, but he seems more like a guy who could easily reel people in, but maybe not cut them loose so easily.

In regards to my prediction about Sutter moving over to management or POHO, I don't have any inside info other than some basic conversations with people who are closer to the organization. Speculation as nobody knows exactly what will happen but a plausible theory. Perhaps bringing in a Mike Futa or a Dean Lombardi on
Someone brought it up on Overtime on 960 last night and used the phrase "GM light" to describe a potential position. I don't think Sutter as a full on GM would make ANY fan happy and that is a risk I don't think ownership will take but Edwards has a history of NOT paying people to not work for him. He is very opposed to having players bought out, people fired with term left on their contract etc. The ownership has no problem spending to the cap but is very opposed to paying dollars to people who aren't working for them.
Do I see a scenario where Sutter and or Edwards eat the reported (Sportsnet Eric Francis) $4 million a year deal? Doubtful. I could see him moving to a POHO position.
My biggest concern with ownership, management and coaching is that there is very little cohesion or proper planning or being on the same page. The organization doesn't seem to have a specific course of action.
Regardless, could be interesting but for the fans who are clamoring for major changes, earth shattering moves, I think we might be disappointed.

I hope Edwards can get a refund on that 4 million after Sutter sewered the season the way he did.
4 million for a guy thats made the playoffs one time in 3 seasons.

Conroy makes firing Sutter a condition of taking the job and enacts his long held revenge plan lol

Taking a while to get to 5000

Whoever the next guy is, if they aren't a Sutter puppet, needs full autonomy. They need to be able to fire him without debate.

If Conroy gets the job, he’s just a puppet for Sutter.

No, they’ve had 9 years and this team is in even worse shape than it was when they started while achieving almost nothing. We’re probably in for another 8 years of mediocrity before we finally decide to blow it all up and then somehow rush another rebuild and go through the same song and dance for another 30 years.
