To be honest, I am baffled by the decision to keep him in the rotation. His jump in innings is now crazy high, and am very worried about next year. Also the 6 (sometimes 5) man rotation is bizarre and doesn't seem to be working out very well.
When they picked up Liriano, I thought it was a done deal and believe he should have gone to the bullpen then.

Bah.
I choose to believe in the Jays. Baseball has ups and downs. They are in a down right now but have the talent and character to turn it around.
I choose to believe.
Do you? I will happily change anyone's user title to be Jays-centric if they also believe.

Not a chance and iMO there is really no logically argument for moving him in the first place. You take your best starter out of the rotation, you go against the wishes of the clubhouse and thre is no evidence that putting Sanchez in the rotation was going to decrease injury risk. If anything I think it likely increased the injury risk.
It never made sense to me in the first place why they would be putting him in the pen. I would have rather road him as a starter as long as you can and then shut him down then put him in the pen.

They are the only reasons we have those 2 wins in this 2-7 stretch.
The offense is the issue right now, plain and simple.

Not to mention its not like Stroman is pitching poorly right now either. Last 7 games he's got a 3.89 ERA and 1.32 WHIP. Only allowed more than 3 ERs twice in his last 9 starts. With this offence that should be good for at least 4 or 5 wins but instead he's got 1.
When you get no run support your margin of error is just too thin. Right now the Jays starters basically have to pitch almost "perfect" games in order for them to have a chance and I think that can be rough on a pitcher.

Nope, and I wouldn't have given him those ten days off either. What did that accomplish? Does skipping one start really make a difference in his long term health? Not a chance in my opinion.

He looked his worst in his last start (or was it the start before that?) when he was on normal rest for the first time in a long time.
So a little hint that perhaps fatigue is an issue.

Tigers lost. Jays can get the playoff cushion back up to 2 games with a win tonight.

I'm with ya. Baseball is about getting on a hot streak at the right time. We just need to find a spark to get the confidence going again.

I don't think ten days (one start) off is going to cure that though. All it accomplishes is throwing him out of his routine.

Maybe. Maybe not. Beats me.
None of us know. There is no exact science here so let's not pretend there is.

JD had an MRI yesterday. Last I heard, Jays were waiting for results.
I doubt he plays

A 1 game playoff is to get into the playoffs. It isn't the playoffs.

I believe fully in these Blue Jays, Hrdina. They sort of remind me of the Red Wings, back when they had all those All-Stars.
I believe in the Jays.

Thank you, I'm fully aware of the format. That's still considered to be the MLB playoffs, and right now I would rather have that 1 game shot than nothing at all. So yes, I will watch that wildcard cut-off spot and hope they make it.

Hey, I just want to be clear that when I say we're not making the playoffs, I'm saying that we're not making the ALDS. If you want to count the playoffs as the one game, fill your boots.
