I dunno, I appreciate people who will confidently declare they hate something as universally beloved as Raiders of the Lost Ark or Lord of the Rings. Keeps things interesting. I liked those movies, but also really liked stuff Sliver loves like Interstellar, so I have absolutely no read on his taste in movies.

Sliver, you should watch RRR on Netflix though. Now THAT'S a movie.

Easy, the documentary on the making of the film called Hearts of Darkness. One of my favorite documentaries ever. It's astounding that anyone survived this production.

I want a documentary following Eleanor Neil making Hearts of Darkness as her husband loses his mind and flies women in the jungle as his muse and other stories outlined in "Easy Riders, Raging Bulls" by Peter Biskind.

#### WB, seriously what's wrong with them. First Batgirl now Looney Tunes, and both these films were finished and now we will never see them.

I don't really have a read on Sliver's taste in... anything. It seems so effortless for him to write something insightful, and then right afterward something preposterously boorish. I don't think there's another member of the forum who makes me react with such frustration reading some of their posts. I like Sliver, but then he'll write something so outlandish it gives me pause and makes me grumble, "maaaan, why you gotta be like that?"

(Nothing but love, Sliver! )

I just watched it yesterday and sir...you are incorrect.

Oppenheimer was not 'good.'

Oppenheimer was a 'Tour de Force.'

Its got some Nolanisms in it that annoy me, but overall its hard to say how much I loved that movie.

As someone who is intrigued with a lot of that time period and various other elements it was so, so great.

I thought it was outstanding. Damn you Nolan. Damn you.

I feel like it would be interesting to watch Oppenheimer and the entire Chernobyl series back to back.

#### Barbenheimer, Oppennobyl is the marathon you're all looking for!

Yeah I underplayed that a bit. It was fantastic. All star cast, Cilian Murphy was incredible and as a bonus a few nice scenes of Pugh-titties. Best movie I have seen in a long time

In between my epics that Ive been watching I decided to watch Wizard of Oz......not the beloved 1930s version with Judy Garland but the original silent era film from 1925 and it's not very good. I thought it might be an interesting watch and I have no issues with silent films at all (Metropolis is perfect) but this one makes no sense, and the story is nothing like the one we all think of.

Dorothy is the Queen of Oz and there is a Prime Minister of Oz (his name is Kruel, gee I wonder if he's a good guy or not) who goes to Kansas to ensure Dorothy never finds this out. Then during a storm Dorothy gets transported to Oz and she finds out she is the Queen of Oz.

It's crazy how in like 10 years they went from that to one of the greatest movies ever. If you want to watch a story that takes place in Oz, check out the 30s version and avoid this.

Well, I was really looking forward to The Killer, but I was kind of underwhelmed. Assassin movies in general are pretty corny, and this one definitely had several corny moments. It also had some good moments, but nothing really "great". It was just ok.

Oppenheimer had its great moments, but felt uneven. And some annoying Nolanisms as others mentioned (which are exacerbated in the theatres)

You gonna have to explain why even ness is a performance measure.

This roller coaster better be even or it’s getting a bad review.

That oiler game sucked, not anywhere near even enough for my tastes.

Watched the original Omen yesterday, still holds up as a classic. It would make my top 100 horror movies ever list.

I agree. The Killer was ok but pretty forgettable. Definitely one of Fincher's weakest.

I think the thing that bothered me most is we got this and Mank. Both pretty middling. And because we got those, we don't get another season or two of Mindhunter.

Finally saw Anatomy of a Fall, NEONs latest gem. Although a majority of the film takes place in a courtroom it is so much more than a Courtroom Drama. It is an emotional drama that was incredibly directed and acted and I would recommend it to anyone that is into Dramas.

I heard this wasn't submitted for any Oscars although I believe it should be. It's an easy 4/5 letterboxd rating for me.

Not that anyone cares at this point I guess, but I think The Marvels is one of the more successful attempts from Marvel to make a lighthearted fun movie, got a lot of genuine laughs from the very few people watching it in the same theater.

I do get why MCU has started to lose its audience, I mean I'm a big MCU fan and I still had moments where I was just "who is that and what just happened?".

As a franchise its just too convoluted with too many characters and no real overarching character stories for people to get invested in.

Still, the movie in itself was pretty good, I think most people would leave the theater feeling entertained. I would recommend it as one of the best post-Endgame movies.
