Summer starved? Hilarious. Yeah, it's been rainy, but there's still been enough accessibly sunny days/periods for outdoor enjoyment, and warm enough weather to still be outside when it's not sunny. Yeesh.

I'm completely overjoyed at the amount of rain we've been getting, as it means we don't have to live in constant smoke for days/weeks at a time.

Forest fire smoke typically comes from hundreds of km away, where the weather is different. Rain in the Calgary region has almost zero impact on the amount of smoke we get.

It is Calgary after all and it's never been a guarantee that summers will be hot and sunny. We have had a good run of late with hot summers but this year is one of those years were we get a below average summer. Just have to make good use of the stretches of nice weather we get from now until the fall.

That's why I'll never complain about a +30 day in May - some years it's the best we'll get.

I don't even mind the rain in the city. It's what it does to my hobbies that bums me out. The trails are a mess and the rivers are raging.

I can't remember a year where we have had to turn our air conditioner off and on so many times.

No smoke is nice but people are definitely justified in feeling like there is less opportunity for enjoying outdoor seasonal activities.

Typically people have 2 days a week to spend a day out and weekends have been unsettled if not miserable weather wise. This weekend is shaping up to be the same. I'll be going out of town to get some solid sun and heat.

Here it seems that the sunny breaks are happening when most cant get out to enjoy it.

Nah man! Get with the times! You work from home, buy one of those 'mouse jiggler' thingys and you get like 5-6 days off a week, easy!

You don't say?? Almost like weather that hits Calgary typically travels 100s of kms too! Likely meaning, that areas where there's forest fires that this rainy weather has been passing through, is lessening the amount of fores fires in those areas. But what do I know, Ciiff?

Rain doesn’t stop the game as quickly as lightning does. One flash and you have to wait 30 minutes to be sure it’s not going to strike closer. One more flash and there is no time left in your time slot.

There comes a time, maybe now, when the rain is too late to benefit the grain development.
