Goal called off due to a glove pass (CGY, correct call) now a chinsy call (given all the other stuff that happens shift by shift at least in the 3rd period) against CGY. KEL PP.

Congratulations Plante, you just threw your team's season away.

Idiot.

As I said, a BS call considering all the other clutching and grabbing the went on in the 3rd and in OT (and in this series from what I've seen and Junior in general).
Also, not sure what #28 is doing standing there not worrying about the pass probably coming to/near him as a Calgary defenseman right in front of the net...its as if he didn't know where the puck was.

Weak penalty call for the championship.

Weak call, but there isn't a single person who's ever seen a WHL game that would expect Savage to do anything but make himself the centre of the game. Stupid, lazy, sloppy defence by Plante put him in a position to take that penalty.

Kudos to Jones for keeping the Hitmen in this game. He got better as the series went along. Too much sloppy play in the Hitmen's own end and their PK was too passive today and let Kelowna do what they wanted.

Well the boys gave us a great season. To bad they dug too deep of a hole going down 3-0 to start off this series with too much of a uphill battle.
They gave it a good run to try to get to game 7!

Gotta congratulate the Rockets. They are an amazing team, and I expect them to return west with the Memorial Cup.

I hate to say it, but the Hitman were a dominant team this year, and they choked away the WHL championship, and they choked away a shot at the Mem Cup.

They came out, took this series lightly and dug themselves a deep hole. Yeah they tried to fight back, but when you dig yourself that kind of hole its a matter of time.

The Hitmen didn't play a good game tonight and they put their season in the hands of OT fate.

So forgive me if I don't shout platitudes at the Hitmen, I expected better of them.

Between them and the Flames, I'm utterly disgusted with Calgary Hockey this year.

Hard not to feel any different. Kelowna is a damn good team, but the Hitmen simply weren't skating well enough at all for most of this series. A lot of excuses though... three posts in game one. Guggenburger stoning them in game two. Could easily have worked out the other way if we had half the luck the Rockets did... but the team that is controling the play usually gets the bounces, and that is what happened.

Hard not to feel like they threw it all away tonight, but at the same time, we weren't supposed to be here. Great season overall, but nobody will ever remember it as such. Such are the weight of expectations.

They were so dominant that they finished a whopping 3 points ahead of Vancouver. The Rockets getting Backlund and adding Guggenburger/Grantham made them a completely different team at the trae deadline and one that likely would have matched the Giants and Hitmen for points if they had them all year.

The Hitmen were definitely excellent this year and the favorites but they weren't such a heavy favorite that this series should be looked at as a choke job.

Having been a fan of a team that lost the cahmpionship last season (although under completely different circumstances) all I can say is that once the shock/disappointment of losing is gone I hope Hitmen fans can look back at the season and see all the positives that were there. The next season can be a real wake up call and show you how great the previous one was.

The Hitmen had a great season and a loss to a very good team like Kelowna should not take away from that.

Congrats to the Hitmen and their fans on that great season. Hopefully, nextyear the Hurricanes can come out and make the developing rivalry a little less one-sided next season.

Another attempt at a dirty head shot by a Hitmen, this time on Backlund. Good on Benn for sticking up for his player. Benn absolutly decked Stone with one hit and Stone going down like a sack of poopoo. Then Stone cowers like a little girl with nobody to stick-up for him. Of course Lowry whinned like a cat in heat, has been doing that all year. Sweet revenge for Barrie to get the ot goal after the dirty head shot last game, and Benn getting the assist makes it even better. What goes around, comes around.

Most of the Hitmen fans left right after the ot goal, poor sports. I thought the fans around me were to cocky and arrogant. You have to admit the better team won despite the reffing and all the bad calls against them. I thought the reffs were a little better tonight but they still missed a bunch.

Nothing like being an after a win. I guess winning with class completely escapes you. So on behalf of everyone here, you can take the Western Hockey League trophy and shove it straight up your
