It's going to be pretty hard for them to top Season 4, I think most would agree it was the best. However Season 2 was my second favourite because the cops were looking specifically for him and the noose just got tighter and tighter every episode until he lucked out with Doakes being killed. Season 3 and 4 never really pushed that as hard but Season 5 obviously will.
I knew Quinn was going to be gunning for Dexter this season, he thinks that Dexter has been cheating on Rita, started picking up the same weird vibe Doakes got (though of course not with the same certainty and obsession yet), wonders why a lab geek knows martial arts etc. Between that and the Kyle Butler descriptions things could get pretty hairy for Dexter.
I'm not really into the whole kids aspect, I don't look forward to Astor bitching and whining every week but I can see how they could develop that further into perhaps her finding out Dexter's secret. This could even be the year the Deb finds out.
Anywho, easily my favourite show on TV right now, can't wait for the premier.

I'm certainly going to Miss Arthur. He was by far the most interesting and disturbing villain of the entire series and I just can't see any future character taking that crown from him, Having said that, the writers of this amazing show are obviously the best of the best and who knows what kind of creeps they will create.
Kudos to Lithgow!

So I just finished watching season 4. And you know what REALLY grinds me gears.....going to a Dexter souvenir site a few months ago, looking at some random t-shirt, and in the description of the frickin t-shirt, they mention the ending of season 4. Having to watch the entire season knowing what would happen totally sucked the fun out of this season. It was great no doubt, but knowing the ending ruined the whole thing.
I just signed up for Showtime for 5, so this never ever happens again.

I hear ya. My friend watched an interview with Michael C Hall about his cancer incident and they spliced in the final scenes of season 4. She wasn't too happy.
Yeah, I guess the lesson is never watch/read anything to do with your show, no matter how innocent you think it is, if you aren't prepared to to ruin it for yourself. Today's the first day I've even ventured into this Dexter thread, and I've been dying to look at it.

Ahhhhh that blows! This was a hard one because it was such a big moment that everybody wanted to talk about it right away. For me it s kinda ruined by a dj on x929, but I pieced it together, I didn't know outright.
Whenever anybody tells me they are going to start watching the show I am adamant that they avoid every possible mention of the show regardless of what it is.
I didn't read this thread until I finished watching all 4 seasons and I am glad. I was so surprised when she was in the tub. Best ending of a show ever because of the fact I had no idea what they were going to do.
