Haha.

Right? Who actually hates Jagr?

Only a sad Oiler fan would try to pull Sid and Jagr down to McUnlikable's level. That's poor form for any hockey fan.

Nice job TB. Hopefully this is a start to another 8 game losing streak. I really want to donate that 1000 dollars to CP if the Oilers miss the playoffs. It would be the best money I’ve ever spent. I hate that hate team and their media. Biggest loser team in the last 10 years.

Sid was called a whiner for a season or two. Then he grew up.

And F Cherry for dissing Sid at that time of his career.

Even better, when they offered him a UFA contract, he chose to go play in Siberia for three seasons instead.

Wow yeah, that's a big F U seeing as both places are essentially Siberia.

That's what I like to see. Oilers put 57 shots on net and lose, with 7 GA.

Hated may be strong word, but early in his career he did complain a fair bit and was chastised for the taking the glove off and saluting as he did after goals early in his career as it wasn't everyone's cup of tea.

Fans wise maybe that's it, but within teams, he also has had his share of battles.

He battled with coaches continually in Pittsburgh didn't really like being in Lemeuix's shadow for as long as he was, especially when Lemeiux came back from Hodgkins treatment and was then asked to be traded, and was, to the Caps.

Bouncing around teams as he did, he had his way or the highway and that didn't align always with teams and staff. His time in Washington with a big contract 8 year $88M contact was a disaster and he ripped the team a fair bit and traded to the Rangers after 3 years.

Even here, he was injured in November 2017, but wanted to work through the injury himself, while still playing, instead of resting it...and get treated on his own, not through the Flames. That lasted a month but then Treliving had enough and as part of his trifecta of end of 2017 calender year decisions (others being sending Freddie Hamilton to minors, when then Phoenix picked him up because Dougie was complaining Freddie should be playing more, thus removing Dougie's security blanket, and, telling GG he was on thin ice (and the stick throw came a week or so later)) , told Jagr he has to rest or at least use the Flames medical staff now, and that option again was a non starter for Jagr, and was done a few weeks later.

So while the guy is and was a phenomenal talent Jagr is and was a stubborn, stubborn player who has his opinions, voices them, and needed things done a certain and that has rubbed some people the wrong way.

Jagr only became loved in his late 30s. If you started watching hockey in 2012 when it says you signed up for Calgarypuck, you wouldn't get it I guess.

I'm old and he was viewed pretty negatively for quite awhile.

He was hated for sure when he left Pittsburgh for Washington, then hated when he was in New York too.

It was only when he came back from the KHL that he became this mythical legend that everyone was a fan of.

After a rogue black hole disruption we have realignment of the solar system.

Their four wins against starters were Markstrom (CGY), Sorokin (NYI), Hellebuyck (WPG), and Grubauer (SEA). Real tough matchups.

i have a buddy of mine who's an oiler fan and he was chirping me earlier today. i sent him the above info

after tonight's game i texted him "so i see the oilers faced a starting goalie tonight!"
apparently that hurt his feelings! ha! ha!

Yeah...Edmonton's coach...Whats his name? Either way, he looks like an uncompleted AI Bot.

As though the person responsible for designing him just went for coffee and decided to never come back.

Oilers play a teams starting goalie, and the team isn't on a back 2 back? Loss

Jagr was pretty hated as well.

Seems like a very NHL thing to hate on the best player until their skills start to decline and then everyone heaps praise on them.
I do remember hating Gretzky, Coffey, Lowe, Messier....

I don't remember ever heaping praise on these guys.

Maybe Edmonton makes them unlikeable? Like McDavid.
