Well, I guess we just have to wait and see if the ATP decides to hand down any supplementary discipline to Nick. I mean, he did plead guilty to assaulting his former girlfriend, the judge let him off with a slap on the wrist, but that doesn't mean the ATP can't impose some kind of punishment.

Davis Cup qualifers and playoffs all around the world this weekend. Luckily, Canada is already qualified! along with Australia, Spain and Italy. Some interesting stories.
USA are in Uzbekistan and are up 2-0 so should be easy.
Players to watch today are Thiem against Gojo, and the big one Wawvrinka against Zverev.
Great Britain has a very tricky tie in Colombia. Evans and Norrie on clay and in the afternoon heat.
an early upset this morning as a very depleted French side earned a 1-1 split in Hungary, Humbert upsetting Fucsovic.

Uh, how 'bout we don't lump these together? They're three completely different cases.

Gabriel Diallo has forced a 3rd and deciding set versus top seed Emilio Gomez in Cleveland. Gomez won a very close first set in a tie-break 7-6, but Diallo just broke to take set 2 6-4
Edit: Well, there's a lesson of not putting balls away at the net coming back to cost you as Gomez breaks early in set 3.

Diallo breaks Gomez serving for the match - We play on at 5-5 in set 3.
Edit: The inexperience showed in that service game as Gomez breaks right back.
Edit 2: Rats, Diallo had a couple of chances to break and force a 3rd set tie-break, but couldn't cash in. That's too bad. Plenty of potential in his game, needs to work on his ground stroke consistency and volleys at the net, already has a great serve.

Better news for Vasek as he advances to the final at a challenger event in Germany. Back into the top 100 in the live rankings as well.

In Davis Cup action, Marc Andrea Huesler upset Zverev in straight sets 6-2 7-6 which means the 5th match between Daniel Altmaier and Stan the Man will determine who advances between Germany and Switzerland.
