Luckily Vladar was not under protocol and is probably chomping at the bit for a bounce back.
Maybe there's a shot that we wrestle a 2-1 type game from them with the dark lord ready to go.
With RNH? and Hyman possibly out, their lines 2-4 are even more useless than usual.

I would be surprised if they're not headed for their own little (out)break... They're at 3 now in Covid protocol, including RNH who was playing last night. Their plane was apparently parked and waiting for test results before they head to their next game.

Just received an email from the Flames confirming games will be cancelled up to Dec 23 vs SEA. Sucks since this was my first game in half a decade going to the Dome. Oh well.

Agreed. There's a strong probability that they will have there own outbreak leading to postponed games in that time period.

Apparently the news that an alternate schedule was drafted was true, but only in the case of no Olympics and if the decision was made prior to the start of the season. Since they pressed forward, most buildings occupied the empty dates where they could.

If the league were smart they should have at least made the last 4-8 games of the season intra-divisional (ideally among the most proximal teams). It would keep playoff races interesting, or in the case that they don't go to the olympics they'd have better odds of rescheduling that last week of the season into the break.
Scheduling more 'series' games could also have helped, too. The only two times CGY plays teams consecutively (MIN, SEA) are home and home series (an expression I've never really understood...should be home-away...)

It's fine. Let them have it.
Ed.onton needs every advantage they can get, and like always it won't do them a lick of good.

True. Schedulers and the universe conspiring to help them can't even buy them a meaningful season without bitter disappointment. They're just that bad.

With three teams doing a break, but where are the rest of the teams at in the COVID cycle when the flames are cleared to play?

I guess there are advantages to Chucky never actually putting his mouth guard in his mouth (rim shot).

I would bet good money some will still go. There is an article in the Athletic where some players said they would definitely go, some said they are unsure, some said no. Pretty sure you will see some go, some will not but NHL players will go.

Instead of us always playing the victim maybe we should be happy that it doesn’t appear any players will have to miss games yet. Other teams have had to carry on without significant pieces (marchant, kutznetzov come to mind) we pretend we’re the only team in the league that gets an extended break that could disrupt our mojo.
We complain about playing too many games and are already making excuses for a game we haven’t played yet, some of us are never happy

Our mojo was already disrupted from all the playing.
Hoping the break actually does the opposite this time.
I can't even begin to predict how guys will look coming out of that though.

@PierreVLeBrun
Expect more NHL postponements to be announced today. A league-wide pause feels inevitable but for now sense is the NHL/NHLPA will try to power through next few days if possible with case by case approach still…
