Oh, is this the part where we stop actually enjoying the Leafs losing and start in on the depressing, repetitive Flames talk?

I'm out.

Get a 20 something year old, hypercompetitive kid in a room after a loss like this. Then ask them questions which pretty much all amount to " why did you suck so bad?"
So cringey and sad more than anything.

I feel bad for the players. Marner and Matthews were on the brink of crying. And someone should be by Campbell's side 24/7 for the next week; that guy is notoriously hard on himself.

They aren't cocky ####s like the Oilers duo.

I'm happy that HNIC gets to suck on this though, woohooO!

They got 4 players and only one played a game in the POs. 20 man games total for all those picks.

TBF COVID has had something to do with it this year. But JG has always been rumoured to have fitness issues, Rasmus did as a junior, Tkachuk - well, look at dad even as a player, and Val just looked slower. Dube I’m only guessing at because of Sutter’s comments on him in BTB games.

Hmmm, do you think they will use the same arguments Staples did about it being the weirdest series loss ever haha

Riley Nash played twice.

Not that it makes it any better.

His was a hard interview to watch. I feel for the guy.

I forgot they even did that. A little earlier in the run up.

I'll enjoy MTL or WPG getting their sockings stuffed by that first American team though.

We're playing little league up here.

As others have said, him retiring would’ve been a great help for our cause. I actually think I remember saying that I’d be perfectly fine with him retiring just so he didn’t haunt us.

I’ve seen him crush the Flames for too long to want to see him play us again in the same division. The Flames were 2 wins from catching the Canadiens for the final playoff spot and maybe if he doesn’t injure Hanifin or isn’t on the Canadiens roster, maybe it’s the Flames today going to the second round instead.

It was certainly a plausible scenario. He didn’t even out right say he’d retire if he was claimed like Spezza said. The Flames would’ve been a better team with Perry than the other alternatives and now the Canadiens are reaping the benefits with him in the line up and It’s really not surprising one bit with his history of success.

You don’t know that for certain and like I said the day he was waived months ago, at the very least, he wouldn’t be haunting the Flames like he’s been doing his whole career. He took Hanifin out for the rest of the season in a critical juncture, he took at Tavares for the rest of the series and he just scored the series winning goal to go along with his 4 points.

I thought he’d be more impactful than the league minimum pickups Treliving made months ago and that’s definitely been proven to be true for the Canadiens.

Why not both?

At least Edmonton managed to blow a 3(?) goal lead in game 3, so it's kind of the best (for us) of both worlds.

Normally, swept as your team really wasn’t very close. But in Toronto’s case with the current narrative and past failures, definitely them. Interesting how a lot of Canadian teams are left wondering what the heck to do from here. Even Canadiens fans wanted Bergevin’s head after the going down 1-3. What an absolute roller coaster the playoffs can be.

Getting swept is measurably worse than 3-1.

Losing 4 in a row, and winning none, is more bad than winning 3/4, any way you slice it.

Edmonton’s failure is more bad than the leafs failure.
