I think with his playing out the last 10 games or so last season, and making the team at its outset, it's not something the Flames could have done easily at the beginning of this one.
But at this stage, I think Granlund would be more effective.
My biggest concern with Bennett is he's just not big enough to play the game he's trying to play, and I'm not sure he can (or should) play any other way. And if that's the case, the Flames might be better served with him learning to play against bigger guys in the AHL.
But hell, he's a talented kid. Maybe he turns it on after 15 games. My first glimpses of him at the Young stars tourney had be believing he'd be better than Monahan, and was the only guy who could keep up with Gaudreau mentally. I just haven't really seen that since.
Edit: Actually, if he's just junior/NHL eligible, that ties the team's hands. He doesn't belong in junior anymore.
