Yes Flames a notch back. Yes this should be a bit of a wakeup call to get them back on track and exposes some holes in the roster whe you don't put 100% in. Yes they need to wakeup a bit. But they haven't got this far via fluke or smoke and mirrors. They are legit and they just need to mentally stay focused.

But "regression" and "they had this coming" after 2 of 3 games vs top teams in the conference, with the other a dominant performance on Saturday, and a is starting to sound like people coming out of the woodwork, as they always do here no matter what, to begin to rush to be first to write the first chapter in Flames season eulogy and pat themselves on the back in 3 months for calling the Flames disapoiting end of the season back it in Feb.
They played against the Lightning way better in the first game. Save maybe 3 or 4 players, the rest of the team is enjoying as collective brain fart tonight. It's gross. The Bye week tied to the ASG break has been proven to be a disasterous thing.

Let’s hope this game is like that Pittsburgh game. Wake the boys up for the rest of the season.

Part of being a starting goalie is stopping 91.5% or more of the shots that come at you. They make difficult saves. They’re paid to make difficult saves. They’re expected to make difficult saves.
Pfft

Team’s job is to give them a good portion of the 91 percent of shots that are stoppable.

You do know there are 6 guys on the ice, right?

And that shots are of different quality.

Rittich made some hard saves tonight. Stamkos one time on the pp, kucherov shoulder save in tight.

what a stupid penalty to take....the focus on this whole team is not anywhere close to where it needs to be.

Oh I’m not defending Peters pulling Rittich last game.

Any time you play Smith, you’re making a bad choice.

I am saying that the standard expectation should be that a goalie should make difficult saves consistently, and should not let in a soft goal every night.

Again forcing the puck up the boards that are very well covered by the LIghting. It's futile and they still try.

Honestly, I would swap Tkachuk and Bennett.

Bennett is causing havoc that would help Backlund out, and Neal could use the better playmaking of Tkachuk. Too much 'so close' and 'where were you going with that'.

Pretty sure the Flames were one of maybe two or three teams who got their bye weeks tied in. If not the only team.
