I'd be a bit surprised if it really was released in 2025. They released the first GTA 5 trailer almost two years before release, the first RDR2 trailer also dropped two years prior ... given the obvious scale of GTA 6, I can easily see this pushed back into 2026. But given they are probably going to milk this game for 20 years, might as well take the time to perfect it.
I thought your post was a joke, lol. 2030 would be an optimistic release date for whatever is next from Rockstar after GTA6. These games take forever to make now.
2025 is no surprise. GTA 5 is still being milked to death and raking in massive profits on a daily basis. Why mess with that formula and force out a sequel when the predecessor is still in it's prime years? From a financial viewpoint, that release date makes perfect sense. Give gamers the time to get hyped up about it, slowly wein themselves off GTA 5, then toss in 6 and keep the cycle going.
If 6 is going to be the gold standard going forward, I hope to heck that single player gets the DLC route that other open world games do. Not really a MP gamer myself so I don't care for the decade -long updates, but perhaps I'm in the minority. Hopefully someone at Rockstar does the math and comes to the conclusion that single player DCLs can be a profitable route.

Me too - I'm actually a fan of the single player /story modes for GTA, not really a fan of the multiplayer stuff. I hope DLC is kept to a minimum, mainly because I hate the grift that has grown in this industry. You used to be able to download stuff for free (ah, the good ol' days of CoD and BF/BFII), now it's all one DLC after another and you have to pay. Games used to cost $70... now with DLC, they can end up being much higher than that. Drives me nuts.

This will probably be two years before release too. I'd be shocked if it wasn't a Holiday title (GTA releases generally are), so if it's October/November 2025 that will be 2 years out.
2025 is so far away that I just watch that trailer and go "Oh cool" and it goes back on the pile of stuff to care about later. There's so many games to come out between now and then (including piles that haven't even been announced yet) and a whole new platform from Nintendo too.

Guy's trying to look for a payday. Just like Lindsay Lohan with GTA V only he's more desperate.
He might have a case because the trailer is copying well-known videos. It’s obviously meant to be him. Rockstar is probably covered under parody law but even if they aren’t they’ll just throw him some Shark cards he can trade for meth.
