Goaltending is likely to be a challenge. And the D is going to be awful. That makes for a bad combo. There simply aren't enough UFAs out there to make this roster playoff-worthy
DAL, COL, WPG
VAN, EDM, LAK
are all locks, and we are aren't keeping up with
NSH, VGS, MIN, STL
and I strongly doubt we're as good as SEA or UTAH
hell, we might not be as good as CHI

As it stands right now, SJ may be the only team I would confidently say the Flames should be better than.
If Kadri starts looking for an out, the bottom could really fall out here.
I guess we will see what happens over the next few days but the Flames are teetering on full blown down to the studs rebuild from the looks of it.

Stamkos could get a massive contract tomorrow with weird (or rather, a lot of) bonuses, no?
Makes it interesting to watch. I could see him raking in $10M on a 1-year deal with bonuses. Guy torched last season.
...how sick would it be to see him sign a MASSIVE 1-year deal with Vegas based heavily on bonuses, just so that VGK carries a big overage into 2026...when we own their 1st.

Really don’t like the idea of spending a fair chunk on Duclair. He’s one of those names the team has inexplicably in on for years now. Holy hell, he’s mediocre. Not sure why the falling over for him, especially if he’ll cost one of term or price.

Seems like someone who can pad his (and Huberdeau's) stats and be flipped for an asset
