Much like Chrono Trigger, I didn't go into Sea of Stars expecting a big challenge. It's a smooth running experience and I never felt especially challenged, but like OotC said the battle system encourages some variety with the lock system. It's still a great game and fun to play.

Did you try all the "superbosses" after beating the game the first time? The only time my whole party died was on one fight and it was a few times before I figured out the trick.
I like how timing it important to attacks and defence in SoS.gives it more of an "action" feel compared to other turn-based RPGs.
i just finished it and fighting the final boss was worth the effort. I'm not going to spoil it but you change form and the game becomes an entirely different genre.

No, I didn't do any post game content. 30 hrs was a good amount of play time. Too many other games I wanted to get to like Spiderman 2.
Jesus, $95 for the PlayStation essential plan now?! That's quite the jump.
My account renews mid-December, and I imagine any Black Friday/Boxing Day promos will only apply to new accounts.
Looking at the list of games I've downloaded the last year, I played exactly none of them. However, there are three or four going back to ~2016 i've been meaning to play

We often hate on Microsoft but I hope their ownership will make Bethesda and Blizzard better companies when developing games. Microsoft will want to focus on games that have replayability to push people to continue their Gamepass subscriptions. Starfield as it stands is super repetitive in an empty universe once you look beneath the covers. I also hope Microsoft will steer Blizzard away from their greedy DLC practices and go back to building quality games like a Starcraft 3 or maybe a new Overwatch (even though its not my type of game).

Or they will focus on DLC to make more money on games they are giving away...gamepass is full of games selling season passes and other nonsense
They are all great games although I haven't played Allen Wake 2 Starfield isn't on the same level as any of these if we are being honest
RE4 seems kinda odd with it being a remake
Have you played it? It's a great game. IMO it's certainly more deserving than say RE4 which is a remake. BG3 will be incredibly tough to beat I would expect. I'm not far into it but from what I have played it would likely edge out Starfield for the best game I have played this year.
