The interview is basically a Trump friend boot licking his golf buddy. Anything less would probably get Gerard Baker booted from the good tee times. No wonder people in the WSJ sabotaged him by leaking the transcript. Embarrassing.

Here's a transcript of a WSJ interview with Trump on July 25th. It hurts my brain to read what he says, but it is interesting if anyone wants to kill a few minutes and read it.
And before Trump says it, you should know he had nothing to do with Russia and he won many states in the election by huge numbers.
So much cringe-worthiness in that interview. Like this for example:
Quote:
So I deal with foreign countries, and despite what you may read I have unbelievable relationships with all of the foreign leaders. They like me. I like them. You know, it’s amazing. So I’ll call, like, major – major countries, and I’ll be dealing with the prime minister or the president. And I’ll say, how are you doing? Oh, don’t know, don’t know, not well, Mr. President, not well. I said, well, what’s the problem? Oh, GDP 9 percent, not well. And I’m saying to myself, here we are at like 1 percent, dying, and they’re at 9 percent and they’re unhappy. So, you know, and these are like countries, you know, fairly large, like 300 million people. You know, a lot of people say – they say, well, but the United States is large. And then you call places like Malaysia, Indonesia, and you say, you know, how many people do you have? And it’s pretty amazing how many people they have. So China’s going to be at 7 or 8 percent, and they have a billion-five, right? So we should do really well.

I don't think this interview has any impact on Trump, it's basically the same as we've seen before albeit stupider than normal. The WSJ on the other hand has a lot to answer for, namely why were they protecting Trump by not releasing this interview? I know it's a Murdoch rag and all, but they did post a few op-eds trashing Trump last week, including Peggy Noonan calling him a drama queen. So why not release this? My only thinking is it makes them look the worst out of this because the interview is softball city. Like no pushback on any of the totally incoherent thoughts he has. Ultimately kudos to whoever leaked it, the WSJ looks pretty awful in the end.

President Donald Trump on Sunday debuted a brand-new segment on his official Facebook page, which was called “real news” and was hosted by daughter-in-law Lara Trump.
The first episode — as there appear to be more to come — focused on introducing the “real news” segment, and focused on the previous week’s Trump administration “wins.”
Quote:
Speaking highly of her father-in-law, Lara — who is married to Trump’s son, Eric — said, “This is a President who is putting America before himself” and launched into Trump’s “win” with regard to the unemployment rate, which she claimed to be at its lowest in 16 years.
Lara also included the DJIA’s successful “historic high,” as well as the addition of 800,000 jobs to the employment market.

Trump lied about the BOY SCOUTS. A senior Scouts source says there was no call at all, let alone a call telling him his speech was the best.

the guy pretty much lies about everything... its actually pretty astonishing to me...
i'll be interested to see if Kelly can convince him that lying, particularly for the POTUS, especially for things that are easily fact checked, isn't a good look...

I'm just resigned to it now. I've pretty much given up and had enough. Nothing about him and his term in office surprises me anymore. I hate to admit it, but he wore me down.....I just can't be bothered anymore. Let them do what they do, let it all continue to go to hell.
Mueller hires foreign bribery lawyer and former DOJ member for his investigation team
Quote:
A former U.S. Justice Department official has become the latest lawyer to join special counsel Robert Mueller's team investigating Russia's interference in the 2016 presidential election, a spokesman for the team confirmed.
Greg Andres started on Tuesday, becoming the 16th lawyer on the team, said Josh Stueve, a spokesman for the special counsel.
Most recently a white-collar criminal defense lawyer with New York law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell, Andres, 50, served at the Justice Department from 2010 to 2012. He was deputy assistant attorney general in the criminal division, where he oversaw the fraud unit and managed the program that targeted illegal foreign bribery.
Trump signs the sanctions bill, issues quasi apology to Vlad. National unity lol....####ing resign and the nation will be as united as ever. Also has to ego stroke himself at the end for good measure.

Kelly may be able to get the staff into less embarrassing shape but the guy at the top will continue with his non-sense so it really won't matter. Trump will continually cut the legs out from those under him. I suspect there will be a new chief of staff by the time the holiday season rolls around.
