Karlsson controls his own fate and lives in California.

He likely isn't waiving to go to Detroit or Buffalo

Wonder if the Flames put a claim in.

He is slightly cheaper than Gilbert or DeSimone and has a lot more NHL experience.
Much like Gilbert and DeSimone before him.... never heard of this guy.

I miss the good ol'days when I had time to pay attention to every team and who was on their roster.

I know that first day of free agency was like huh even with Rooney.

Looks like Sean has been in the league since 2014.

I could see Yzerman / Lidstrom convincing him for Detroit.

I think he'd want a shot at a cup. If those teams aren't contending it probably wouldn't matter. "Think of your lasting legacy....a mentor."

Edit: We all know he'll end up in Vegas or Tampa. They all do.

He's healthy for a change. Hard to imagine that will continue. His shooting percentage is close to 20%, which won't continue for a defencemen.
I have also heard the theory that with Burns gone he is taking a bigger leadership role and getting all of the opportunities that used to go to Burns.

That's fine, but if he was a 1st round pick I suspect you would think differently.

Agreed. See Saros, Juusi. If he was 6'3 he would have been a 1st round pick. He seems to being doing ok now.

Well, not really this season lol. But in general, yes.

I think Karlsson was always good, but having to share top pairing RD duties with Burns was hindering the both of them. I think if the Sharks traded him they could get a good return, assuming cap is taken back. The Senators would make a lot of sense.

Saros though is an outlier.

It doesn’t mean that Wolf cannot succeed, but he would another outlier.

Much better stats than both the Flames Goalies. If we are just going off stats.

When's the last time a player voluntarily left San Jose? Highly unlikely he waves his NMC to go anywhere and certainly not to Canada.

Brent Burns? But yeah, he left to another decent climate.

Wonder if we could swing a trade involving markstrom. That gives us some flexibility cap wise.

Our club is like a belt sander for goalies. The longer they're held by us the more flimsy they become

I agree. I’ll trade him for a 6th at this point. Our tandem is averaging at .884 Save percentage.

Start Vladar for the next week, start the tank.

There is a lot of evidence suggesting this

Said it before. If every goalie gets worse overtime once the flames get ahold of them maybe it’s the goalie coaching staff that needs to go.

That would be counter-productive.
