I've done 81 with a snowman on 18 at Stewart Creek. Leaves a bad taste.

I played in my first "league night" on Wednesday at Woodside in Airdrie, was my 5th round of the year and the worst front 9 I've played in years (and the front nine was the 9 that counted for the league) 52 aided by 3 straight 7's, putting hurt me for sure but I bladed 2 shots out of bunkers (2cm of nice sand on top of hard pack) and it put me on tilt for a few holes.

Followed it up with a tidy 41 on the back, which of course doesn't count on the league play. Such a love hate relationship with this game.

Haha, my last round out I went 48-36. Took me 9 holes to warm up.

Must be something in the air.

Willow park was in excellent shape today. Surprising for this early in the year.

Got out for a quick 9 tonight before sundown.

Kind of a roller coaster but unlike last week the short game and putting was working. Driver was a mess. Shot 45.

Now just need to get the tee shots and the short game working at the same time.

I just cannot hit my driver. On the weekend, it cost me 12 (!!!) strokes and I couldn’t hit it at all. I left it in the bag last night and hit 3 wood only, and it was a world of difference. I have no idea what the issue is, or what to do there. Golf is such a perplexing game.

Weather looks pretty chilly but I just released 2 spots for 920am on Tuesday at Kananaskis (Mt Lorette course) in case anyone wants to jump on that.

I saw terry at the golf dome on 50th ave and McLeod (roughly). It was a game changer.

I actually went 12-1 over lunchtime. Real convenient.

My kid qualified into a pretty high ranked junior tournament this weekend. They had a long drive contest after the practice round today. Check out these Trackman numbers from a high school kid in the tournament! The refresh rate of the screen messed up the photos, but I think the numbers are readable.

What wedges do you play? I'm talking the higher loft ones. Like 52-60. I have a Sand wedge which I think is around a 54. I'm thinking of getting a 60. What bounce would you get? I play at Priddis mainly.

If you’re not going to get fitted just get what you are comfortable with or hit well at somewhere like golf town. No one here knows how you play to suggest a specific bounce.

The ping webfit is pretty helpful if you don't want to get fitted. I don't know how much a fitting helps unless you can find a place that lets you hit all the bounces and grinds off the grass you usually play.

My son did the one at TPI in California, and it was a great experience. He wouldn't let him look at which grinds he was hitting, and had him do all types of wedge shots off of both bermuda and rye grasses with all the different grinds and bounces Titleist had.

I don't see how an indoor turf fitting for wedges would be that useful.

Just go talk to Eric and he'll get you set up.

So after replacing every club in my bag this off season, save my old TaylorMade Rossa Tourismo… my folks surprised me with a birthday gift of money for a new putter… so off to GOLFTOWN I went. Walking in I was thinking a LAB, but I just can’t get comfortable with the centre shafted putter, just doesn't look right when i'm setting up.

Ended up going with an Odyssey Cruiser Jailbird Versa… definitely a bit to get used to with the counter balance, but I’m loving it! 3 rounds with it and my putting has improved 3.2 strokes per round (my weight is much better, and >8' putts are easier).

What's everyone else using? Is anyone rocking a LAB?

My 60 is probably my favorite club. I use it anywhere within 70 yards. I'm a pretty bad golfer but my 60 game is strong haha. I feel like you could probably dial any of your wedges in like this, as its mostly feel. I find virtual golf to help more with the distance feel of my wedges than anything else.

EDIT: I should say anywhere within 70 yards that I'm pitching or flopping, not chipping!

Vokey 50, TM High Toe 54 & 58.

I use the 54 the most as my go to chipping wedge; but will use the 50 if I have more green to work with and want it to roll out further.
58 I pretty much only use in the sand and occasional difficult lie that needs a flop shot.

I had the prior gen TM high toes and replaced them this season with new ones (same loft), and oddly the 58 is giving me real problems lately. Lots of duffed shots when I try to play it for longer full/close to full shots.
I wonder if something changed with the bounce that has messed me up.
