I don't know what it is about first-party Microsoft games but the talk about Forza Motorsport is sounding about as divisive as Starfield is. The game has some issues but overall is fun to play and looks great (mostly).
I'd give it a solid 7. :P
That's cool. I'm pretty skittish about EA titles but EA WRC has been getting good initial reviews. Apparently they took a bunch of the codemasters dirt rally physics model stuff so not all is lost. I'm not a huge track racing fan so forza motorsport doesn't really appeal to me
Personally I'd say that if they stick with Nvidia for the hardware then it'll be 100% backwards compatible, but if they go with a different architecture then who the #### knows
You're in luck, because the rumors point to this being an Nvidia console again. The rumors say the next console will use Ampere-based (RTX 30- series) graphics which is great news since it'll have DLSS. It's not a guarantee on backwards compatibility though because the Ampere and Tegra architecture are pretty different.
BG3 is my first DnD game and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong in my approach.
I'm early on in act 1, playing on normal difficulty, my group is around level 4, and I have no chance against any major enemy.
I don't think I'm going to far to early as I'm loosely following walkthroughs and I understand the general concept of the combat system but are my guys really underpowered or something? They'll all hit for 5 - 20 damage (when they don't miss) which is fine for general skirmishes but when a witch spawns a bunch of other enemies with 100+ HP each, I don't have a chance.
Am I missing something? I'm trying to play to my dude's strengths, like I'm not expecting my magic dude to fight close in tight battles, but I just seem so severely underpowered when it gets to major fights... Do I just have to grind more?

The first four levels are really tough in DnD, as you are going to miss a lot and not hit for much. One of the things that is of note in BG3 is that there is no scaling, so when you look at the enemy, if they are more than +1-2 levels to you, you are really gonna struggle, and even if they are +2 levels, it'll be a tough fight. For Act 1, once you are level 5, things get a lot easier.
I also found that combat got a lot better once I turned the "Karmic Dice" option off (the default is on).
Also, since this is your first DnD game...don't feel any shame in dropping to the easier level. You get more XP and a slightly better hit rate, while the bad guys get a bit less xp and a slightly worse hit rate. It's a good one to learn on.
Which fight are you specifically having some issues with, I may be able to help you a bit more, also, what is your party composition?
One thing I'm really impressed with AC Mirage is the soundtrack. Exploring, combat/chase, even the pause menu. Perfectly suits the vibe, AC music is always elite and helps bring the setting alive.
If you like it too, go to the Pause menu -> Menu -> Sound, then set Music Frequency to High. It will play a lot more.
Forgot that Ubisoft has a subscription service, so rather than buy Mirage I could just sub for a month.. generally when I finish a game I don't go back and replay it so saves a lot of $$ assuming I finish it within a month or so.

Tons of free demos on Steam right now, I tried a game called Enshrouded which is supposed to be Vikings meets Zelda.. time limit on the demo is like 7 hours which is pretty generous. Seems cool, will probably take a look at it when it comes out.
BF2042 is free this weekend too and on for $12.80, not sure if anyone still plays that.

Spider-Man 2 reviews dropped this morning. I have only had the chance to read the IGN and it was what I expected. If you like the first game it moves forward with the story and some cool gameplay additions but it is largely very similar to the other 2 games in the series. I am pumped to pick this game up on Friday and give it a go

IGN gave it an 8 and Gamespot an 80. I just don't know how much further they can take the same formula and make it feel fresh without overhauling the game. Web slinging around the city is one of the more satisfying feelings in all of video games but it's just the that the side quests are so repetitive. Still I'm sure this one will be fun to pick up and play.

I just finished listening to the Kinda Funny review and they praised the side quests. Said they were like mini campaigns and way more varied. “Instead of making you take down 100 outposts, you take down 5 and then move onto something fresh”.
The addition of the wing suit and the water gliding should help the traversal feel fresh too.
Either way I’ll be checking it out this weekend for sure.

Thanks, both of these points really helped... I actually had no idea you could check an enemies level.

I think the symbiote suit and being able to seamlessly switch between Peter and Miles will also keep things fresh. Ultimately I was hoping that Venom would be a playable character and that would have truly been a different experience but perhaps they are saving that for the third game.
I have no doubt I will love this game and am incredibly excited to see an extended gameplay trailer for Wolverine.

I wish they had made open world New York more detailed and explorable. I would play a game just to be Peter Parker and wandering the streets taking photos and eating at hot dog stands.
It does bode well that the IGN and Gamespot reviews seem to be on the lower end of things. 8s on the low end is a great sign.
One of the reviews I read mentioned how Insomniac has mastered the art of making you want to 100% their games. Spider-man was one of my favourite platinums every, so Friday should be a good time.
Unfortunately, my kids are now old enough to ride the hype train which kinda screws my entire life. They've designated me a block in their "play schedule"... it's 7-9am. Bastards.

Since I spent hours on the original PS4 version and never played the remaster, it still feels really jarring to have the recasted Peter Parker in this game.
He just doesn't have as much character, expression, or maturity for a seasoned Peter Parker.
