3-0 Win, Carroll with the brace and Kuyt chipping in another. Hes having himself a pretty fine year.

You got what you asked for! Andy Carroll with two beauties and a fantastic effort from everybody in red today. Kuyt was tremendous, he just never quits. He was winning balls all over the field tonight.
Great to see Flannagan get his debut tonight. He played quite well and may get a few more games before the end of the season.
On the other hand, Many City were absolutely awful tonight. They played with zero passion. They looked like a team full of confused, disinterested, over-paid players. Balotelli was the worst out of all of them. He sulked around the field and blamed everybody but himself. I strongly dislike players like that.
Go Reds!! YNWA

This team is insane. They kill the teams above them but lose to Blackpool and practically every team below them. Unreal.
What a match, the City defence just couldnt handle them.

Spurs and Arsenal had better be worried about a team that plays like this against teams that are above them.
The Goliath is fit.

I had high hopes for the Carroll-Suarez combo when they first signed but I think that I might have understated it a little. Suarez is everything and more than expected and Andy Carroll is immense. He is unlike nearly any other striker out there and could be nigh on impossible to handle as he improves. I know a few of you had doubts with the cost and lack of experience but I knew he was a good 'un with huge potential. Again though I now think his potential is even more than I originally thought. This partnership has the possibility to be something great.
Oh and kudos to Kuyt. Most underrated player in the EPL.
Finally, Mr. Torres. When's the last time he scored a goal? I would take Carroll over him any day of the week.

What's with Kuyt? The guy's out of his mind the past while. Was he not being used properly before? I think Torres was even more of a divisive figure than anyone thought...so glad he's gone.
A full season of Suarez/Carroll should be immense next year.

Benitez and Hodgson both refused to play Kuyt anywhere besides out on the wing, when he is clearly not a winger. He still gets used a bit there now, but he seems to have the ability to roam around more. I think thats why we see him scoring more goals now, but also why we see him all the way back in our own box defending. The guy is a workhorse and just needed a manager like Kenny to give him the freedom to do what he does best.
Kuyt is an awesome player and I think he will continue to be a huge part of this team going forward.
I can't wait to see the Carroll/Suarez combo once we purchase a couple of wingers in the summer window. Carroll becomes even more deadly once we pick up a player who can make a decent cross.

Kuyt has been unreal this season and I think Kenny is a huge part of that.
I'm with Jagger, I dont think I gave the Suarez/Carroll partnership enough credit.
I cant imagine what they'll be like when we have a couple more midfielders who can thread a pass through to Suarez or a winger or two who can put a cross in.
Could you imagine Carroll taking crosses from Gareth Bale? I rant about Bale being overrated, but the one thing he does extremely well is put the ball into the box.

I think when Kuyt is most effective is when he's playing out wide, but with a fluid attacking system. He's always been effective for Holland, playing quick give and go's and finding space. The Man City game was basically a perfect game for him to shine, as our movement in attack was great. Dirk seems to suffer when it's a more static attack, but I think most of the team does.

The second Carroll was made available Tottenham should have been all in to try and get him.
He was the exact striker that team needed to be successful in Europe this year and a perfect fit for that team with Lennon and Bale bombing him crosses from the flanks and Modric and Van De Vaart making creative plays behind him.

Ah, but they wanted Rossi and Aguero though.
I think good things are afoot with these two around.
The fact that Torres has cranked the suck dial all the way to 20 doesnt hurt either.

Torres will bounce back, maybe not all the way to former form but he will still be a very good striker in the future.
Much like Liverpool detractors of Carroll, Torres' price tag will haunt him for some time. On that team money is all that talks, on his was big so he has to play big.
In the meantime, the Liverpool Goliath is mostly fit, working on form and scoring goals.

And thats precisely my point, get your enjoyment now because Torres will certainly turn it around and then it wont be any fun for anyone other than the rent boys.

What a game, but what an injury list.
- Gerrard
- Carragher
- Johnson
- Agger
- Aurelio
- Kelly
- Carroll (probably)
Wow.

Ya its getting pretty crazy with all of these injuries to our D. The bright spot of all this is that players like Flanagan and Robinson have had their debuts and not looked out of place. This really bodes well for us going forward, and may allow us to spend money on other positions of need such us the wing positions.
Ideally, for me at least, we should add in a guy like Micah Richards (who I know we have interest in after bidding for him in January) who has the ability to play all across the back line. He would really help stabilize the back four as the young guys continue to progress, and would take the pressure off of guys like Martin Kelly and Daniel Agger from coming back too soon from their injuries.
