You never did reply to the 150 bucks I sent you to confirm it was you.
Now I wants my money back.

UI lock up is my main one. They promised a fix back in December and haven't mentioned or acknowledged it since.

so i guilded up, and the game became so much more awesome now. before when i did warzones solo i'd be lucky to win 1 in 4 as republic, but now grouping together with the guild we are absolutely stomping the imps, 12 straight wins so far in the last couple of days. getting on ventrilo to do warzones or flashpoints is awesome, so much more co-ordination
if anyone has a republic character on The Bastion and wants a good group to do flashpoints and warzones with, hit me up. my character name is Duff, and the guild name is Vindictive

Bit of a rant... take it for what it's worth.
Made it to level 27, got a speeder, landed on Tatooine and started running through the quests. By the time I completed my first quest, I realized all I had done was talk to NPC, skip the conversation, b-line to the objective and come straight back to turn it in. I didn't give a crap about what I had just done. Every planet instills a sense of dread - as if a co-worker had just dropped a to-do list of 50+ items on my desk.
There is nothing holding my interest in the game beyond the personal character story, which to progress I have to level my character, which to achieve I have to slog through countless quests I really don't care about.
And to top all that off, the space quests were cool and different, the first two times. After that I just kept getting "dailies" to repeat series of the same three space missions over and over and over.
Seriously?
They should just knock out half the XP required to hit milestones in the game. SWTOR just isn't "fun" for me anymore. It's just work. This is like Everquest or Vanilla WoW - just a constant grind cutup by the occasional cool story cutscene.
SWTOR should have been released as KOTOR 3. Yeah, I think I'm done with MMO's entirely.
And speaking of MMO's - it's 2012... ffs put a LFG system in that's useful. And relax the ridiculous trifecta garbage - I've met exactly 2 people in the game that actually grasped the concept of crowd control, tanking and focused DPS. And at the level of 18, it's absolutely necessary to do this in every heroic quest and flashpoint - there is no wiggle room whatsoever. I gave up trying to do the heroic quests/flashpoints despite them being the more interesting parts of the game because I had to put up with idiots who had no idea how to play (yes, I even guilded and sough refuge there - no dice). I do recognize that it's a new MMO, but I had hoped that people would have picked up the basics by level 25 at least... (that's like 35+ hours in for god's sake)
It's too bad. Because they nailed the atmosphere of Star Wars so perfectly - if only the game wasn't a boring slog through drudgery.
At this point, I'd rather do work then play this game anymore. At least I get something out of work...
/rant - sorry about this, just had to vent a bit.

I take issue with this. I've solo'd most of the heroic quests (even a four man or two) and have barely used any CC in any of the flashpoints so far. Infact the only time I've seen CC be necessary is the Mandalorian Raiders flashpoint on the second boss and even then we've slipped through without it once. This game is just as easy as WoW circa WotLK, where you can just chain pull through since mana/force/whatever regenerates so quick, even in combat.

why did you buy the game Blaster if you knew you hated it so much in beta?

I have at no point hated the game. I do hate that this game has lived up to none of its potential and is merely mimicking WoW as best it can.
Why do I play it? Simple.

From what I can tell, Blaster loves to complain about games - seems his thing.

Only time I've been able to solo anything it's been the Heroic 2 quests and I've been 2-3 levels above it (playing as a Jedi Shadow - tank spec).
You must have been grouped with people who knew what they were doing or were actually spec'd to their "role". I've never seen a competent healer as a tank and I haven't seen a competent tank as a healer (I leave DPS to others...).
I just wish that game designers would drop the trifecta garbage and make encounters that are more dynamic. The MMO gameplay is just... static.
Were the monthly fee something like 5$, I'd probably keep it going though and just ignore other people entirely.

How many games have I complained about outside of this and WoW?

I still to this day have no idea why EA copied the gameplay, almost pixel for pixel from WoW. It's what killed AoC and it is what will kill this game - you're already seeing it.
You really don't have to build an MMO this way!
Need to really add some more dynamic content or else there is no reason for people to switch.

Really, what I've learned from this game is that it's apparently really, really difficult to create a good MMO.
Well done, Blizzard. The only way you'll be dethroned is if you want Titan to overtake WoW.

While I agree that this game won't survive unless it finds a way to offer a unique gaming experience as far as the MMO aspect goes (how many people are gonna pay $15 a month for a single player?) you have to give it the kudos it deserves for what it has done right compared to WoW. Like crafting or the mini-game.

EA just doesn't get MMOs. They should have let Bioware be completely independent during the development without providing them any 'direction'.
I truly believe that TOR is the way it is because of their interference.

Considering the company that made ToR was created with the sole intention of making the MMO and is seperate from the regular Bioware (In Texas where as every other bioware office is in Canada) I don't think EA did much other than force it out early. This wasn't the same team that did KOTOR.

I bought it but I doubt I will renew. Leveling felt like single player, and the game feels very poorly optimized to me. Get awful fps in warzones and certain flashpoints. I have also tried all the suggested fixes to no avail.

I think my experience so far has been largely positive. A couple bugs that REALLY annoy me, on top of the un-implemented stuff (macros, customizable UI, combat log etc.):
UI
- Relics never stay hotkeyed
- My chat windows default to font size 14 at various times.
- My minimap does not stay zoomed out
- Sometimes GTN mail shows the person that bought it, but other times it bugs out
Gameplay
- Ability Delay (I play a gunslinger - ever try to kite -> cover -> pulse det -> kite in rapid succession?)
- The icons no longer grayed out
- Still massive imbalance between empire and republic (dirty kick vs. stun dart)
I'm still only lvl 46 because I've been playing too many other games, but I think it's got a fantastic base to build upon.

I would agree with what your saying, however a lot of it doesn't seem to effect me that much.
I am enjoying the game play a lot, and the complexity of the missions.
Taris has been a very nasty world, and in the last mission it looks like they're going to take my healing companion away from me which will force me to do more then soak up damage while getting healed.
Even if I was treating this as a single person game, I find that the missions and story lines and opponents are varied enough to keep the game interesting.
I have done a few group missions over the last few days, not because I'm gaining experience points (too over powered) but because these weaker players asked for help and offered me dough.
I'm sitting at level 37 and even though the leveling points are getting hure (265,000 xp points to the next level) I'm usually leveling up two or three times on a planet, then I have the ability to head back to the previous planet for some interesting bonus quests that weren't there before.

Has Bioware talked at all about doing free faction transfers to help fix the imbalance between Republic and Imperial?
