Incredible ending, very sad for Croatia but they did let this happen

Too bad Turkey will have so few to put on the field against Germany, but we can obviously never underestimate these come back kids!

I like Germany's chances against a weakened Turkey.

Rustu was almost the goat in that game going for a walk in the 119th minute.

Epic choke job by the Croatians. They thought they had it won and lost their focus.

Unbelievable...what a game. Gotta give the Turks credit, they don't give up. If they can pull off an upset against Germany now, it would be incredible.

wow germany can simply walk into the finals with this weakened turkey team full of injuries and suspension..

germany might as well book their plane tickets to the final stadium right now..
I highly doubt turkey will produce a world upset............ but crazy things have been happening to these turks in this tournament!!

Wow, what a kick in the junk ending for Croatia, unbelievable. If I was Turkish I'd be loading up on the lottery tickets. Been a great tourney thus far, and the Russia/Dutch game could be 5-4.

i called my dad up north when we scored the goal. there was like.. what. a minute left?

having to call him back and tell him we lost in penalties was the hardest call of my life, no joking. my dad is devastated, as am i, but not like he is. the turks got lucky, and i hope the germans send them home. croatia will be in mourning.

More bad news for Turkey, Nihat is out injured.

Quote:
Turkey look almost certain to go into their UEFA EURO 2008™ semi-final without their leading striker after a scan on Nihat Kahveci's thigh confirmed he will not be fit for Wednesday's showdown with Germany.
As for their other problems, one of the best defensemen is Servet and hes doubtful.

Quote:
Emre Güngör has already been ruled out of the tournament because of a calf complaint while Servet Çetin (hip and knee), Tümer Metin (groin) and Emre Belözoğlu (hamstring) are major doubts for Wednesday. Terim is definitely without the suspended quartet of Emre Aşık, Tuncay Şanlı, Volkan Demirel and Arda Turan for Turkey’s first semi-final on the European stage
Mehmet Aurelio will be available.

Lets see what the Dutch can do today. The Russians are talented, but not on the same level as the Dutch. All through qualifying the knock on the Russians was their poor defensive play, and it has to be better or the Dutch will tear them apart.

I'm going for the Oranje today, lets see what they can do. They had better not take this Russian team lightly or they'll be in deep trouble before they know it.

I don't see any orange power at all.

If Russia wouldn't suck so much in front of the goal Holland had lost this by a few. If this young Russian team manages to become more effective when it comes to putting the ball into the net they could be really frightening.
If I remember correctly Germany has to play them while qualifying for the WC...

But for now back to the Euro.

Edit: There you go... wow.

Unbelieveable play by so far by Holland.

The Dutch are clearly the better team but continue to play so lazy this game.

Can't believe that they are going to choke away another tournament.

What is it with Euro and crappy teams being successful?

Gah! The Dutch had nothing all this game, and probably would have lost in penalties anyway.

How are the Dutch the better team? The Russian outran and outskilled them! Which is saying alot.

That's 3 out of 3 group winners out. One more tomorrow perhaps.

They should have been up 2-0 after the first 20 minutes. They didn't lose 4-1 to any teams this tournament. When they play they look like they easily can dominate the Russians.

They haven't played better than the Russians throughout the game which is why they lost but when they did play they were clearly better than the Russian team.

Congrats to the Russians makes it an easier road to the final for Spain so at least both semi's should be a cake walk for the finalists meaning nobody gets an advantage that way but with the way Euro has gone historically perhaps one of these crappy teams will win again.

I thought you liked the underdog!

We'll have to disagree then. I thought the Russians dominated the tempo of the match and the Dutch only looked dangerous on free kicks. The Dutch spent so much time chasing the game that they had to make early subs and then they were totally gassed in extra time as the younger Russian legs kept going and going. You can't make the argument about being better in the group stage because we all know that in major tournaments (like the Stanley Cup playoffs even) what happened previously means nothing.

I think it does come to play when one team got the crap kicked out of them and the other dominated the toughest group in the tournament.

Doesn't mean much at the end of today but the Dutch had looked better throughout the tournament, are the better team and got beat by playing like garbage today.
