Not hockey related, but Lifesport in Hillhurst is closing, so probably some good deals of skis and bike parts. They also had a good selection of used x-country equipment.

Didn't Lifesport move from that location several years ago?

It might have. The last time we went there was a number of years ago. Was about to consign some of our old equipment that kids outgrew and found out that it was in the process of closing. I thought maybe they had two locations.

Why can’t I get a mall Chinese sampler pack on the weekend and not go to the mall. I don’t want to spend $78 for five different items that will disgust me immediately after ingesting. I just want some bbq pork, squid, ginge, noods. And never see it again for 8 more months.

I don’t know if this is a false memory, but was there a Christmas themed Coke can during the 90s that when two of the cans were lined up, they looked like Santa snorting a line? I swear I remember this, but I can’t find anything except some references to a recent Walmart sweater debacle.

I seem to remember a claim like that when I was young. I don't recall it was snorting a line of cocaine though. I think it was that Santa looked like he was smoking? When I was shown the cans side by side, I remember it seemed hokey AF. I think the white could kinda look cloud or smoke like at certain angles but it didn't even line up with the mouth.
Not the Christmas can, but I recall a snorting a line comment. Again it was hokey AF. It even has its own snopes article with the author criticising those people as cloud watchers.

What was that beer brand where when you turned their logo upside down it looked like Batman eating out a chick. Maybe 1994-1996?

You often hear of people getting hefty severance packages when let go. I've never been fired in my life, but it makes me curious.
Based on my brief google search, the minimum for a 10+ year employee is 8 weeks of pay. That seems crazy low for some of the stuff I've heard people get. Usually like a year or more, plus their accrued vacation, pending bonuses, etc.

Under the Employment Standards Act, there are some low severance amounts set out. However, under the common law (court decisions), those amounts have been increased, using various metrics (without there being an actual formula, so it's still vague).
There are several different severance calculators online, but a ballpark for the average person would be around 2-4 weeks per year of employment.

For some reason my agglomerated email option has disappeared on my iPhone. I now have to manually check each of my email accounts. Wtf did I do?
I can’t figure out how to even google that problem.

Should be an “edit” button on top right. Then just add the “inbox” and “unread” or whatever else you want to see from each individual mailbox.

I know a lot of people include their pension payouts in that number. I wonder if that's part of it.
The 8 weeks of pay thing is the minimum. There are other companies that do 1-2 months per year worked. So after 2 years. You get 4 months pay, 12 years, it's potentially 1-2 years pay. It's kinda bonkers how much higher than the minimum it can be depending on the situation, but I hear these packages have been getting smaller and smaller over the last 5 years. I've chatted with people who used to calculate these severance pools and many companies revised their policies to be a fraction of what it used to be. I assume it's closer to 1-3 weeks per year now across the board vs 1-2 months per year I've seen people receive before. That's also why some people used to say that if you had the choice of putting your hand up early vs waiting till a few rounds later, it might be better to elect to get laid off earlier. More in the pool for the severance packages vs later. But this really depends on the situations of the companies and a lot has changed in the last 5-10 years.
This calculation is also often based on the last monthly pay slip when you are laid off, not your highest months compensation at the company. That's why you should never ever consider going from full time to part time if you think your employment is in jeopardy. You'd get substantially less on your severance. Going from 100% severance if you got laid off in your current role vs going part time to 0.4 FTE and then getting 60% less severance is a kick in the teeth. Plus the company can't excitedly do it fast enough. You'll basically help them twice in one quarter to meet targets. Imagine working several months part time basically for free and walking away with less overall money from wages and severance than if you had accepted to walk away earlier with a full severance package.
I've even heard of situations where people were furloughed and then tricked into doing some reduced role for a few months which allowed company to offer them a package with a lower amount than those waiting on furlough. But that individual considered it a win. Taking that option meant they were first in line to get what they could. Company was going/went bankrupt anyways. Full severance meant nothing since the company couldn't pay.

The tariff stuff will shake up my industry considerably. The mere uncertainty of it already has our US client base seeking other options.
So I'm wondering if the worst should happen, what that might mean for me. Appreciate the posts.
Getting two years of salary would soften the blow for sure.

I just had the power go out, in both bathrooms, which run on the same breaker. But when I checked the breakers, and reset them (and more, just in case), they seemed to reset fine with no pressure.
Still no power.
I'm clearly not an electrician. Any thoughts, beyond 'call an electrician'?

If it's just the bathrooms, my first instinct is that possibly the GFCI on one of your plugs tripped. All your bathrooms might be interconnected for safety reasons, so one tripping could knock them all out.
This might help: https://scotthomeinspection.com/lost...heres-the-fix/
