Issue is with vdv out for who knows how long, romero suspended for 3 games, and davies not healthy enough for the bench yesterday, udogie 1 game sus

It leaves the available defenders as

Porro
Dier
Royal

After that its Ashley williams who is 18, or one of the midfielders

Yeah, it's pretty grim back there. You have to think that VDV is out for a while as that didn't look good. It's not great further up though, as Richarlison is having a procedure, Maddison has this ankle issue (which was hopefully more precautionary) and Bissouma one yellow away from missing a game.

I would challenge the red on Romero if I was Tottenham. He got the ball entirely, and what happens if they decline it...three games that he's already getting?

I think they add an extra game if the ruling isn't overturned but I could be wrong. If not than every team should challenge every red card.

Even if they for some reason were to overturn it, which they wouldnt

He should have had a red a few minutes earlier when he kicked out after being tackled further outfield, was shocked var didnt look at it

When I saw Romero's live, I immediately flashed back to the Liverpool red. Both unlucky, but based on what everyone else has said about them, they're both reds.

Yeah, no idea how they just skipped over that one.

Honestly, VAR was a joke. Not because of the calls (though I thought they got a couple wrong), but because it took a ridiculous amount of time. They played something like 112 minutes? That's just absurd. I can understand those types of things if you have severe injuries or that kind of thing, but when it's just reviewing plays it's far too long to have everything grind to a halt.

Well it’s been a fun few months, but Maddison, VDV and Richarlison are out until the new year. Obviously, we’re missing Romero for a few games and Udogie for this weekend. Things don’t look good heading into the busy time of year.

Betancur being back early is a huge blessing, hes got some time now but starting is probably not happening yet especially right before international break

So guessing either kulu moves to the 10 with gil on the right, or lo celso plays there?

Davies and porro are both available which is massive for the back line

Yeah thats not ideal heading into the hectic Christmas season.

So we're stuck gambling that Lo Celso turns out, and stays healthy? Yikes.

I think that Gil still might be good and might be good in Postecoglous system. I wonder if we either get business done January 1st, or maybe bring someone back from a loan? Or both? It's not a great situation, but I think that Ange will have us navigate this reasonably well. The match against City might be grim though.

Well it was never going to be easy, but two goals in extra time wasn’t great. And now Bissouma misses the next game as well. Spurs are reeling now.

For most of that game it looked like Wolves were the exact right team for them to play with how useless they were up front.

With the injuries and suspension and the team we had to put out a draw probably would have been a good result to walk away with, that last goal hurts as they were so close to getting away with a decent result.

Maybe, but as we brought players on it was pretty clear that we were holding on by our fingernails. We just don’t have the depth to cope with that many players out. I’m not sure who could handle losing 3/4 of their back line and a couple attacking players in a week to put out a good squad.

City, Liverpool and Chelsea although debatable how good that Chelsea team would be LOL.

But those 3 likely have the best depth in the league. I think many teams could put out teams with less of a drop off than what we have going from Romero, Maddison and VDV to Dier, Davies and PEH.

I don't think so, because losing both starting CBs is a tough hill to climb, and Maddison has been our best creative player this season. It's not just a random three guys there, and replacing them isn't simple.

I mean sure, some of that is self-inflicted with a red card, and maybe Levy needed to do more in the summer. But it's a pretty harsh scenario and probably kills chances at top four this season.
