Love BB, catch most of all podcasts.

Also really enjoy After Burner.

I have been enjoying Barn Burner on occasion. With guests, Barn Burner is head and shoulders above the competition.

Still listen more to the 960 podcasts just out of habit but I suspect that is going to change. Pat is great, but it's almost like all of the hosts have to talk like him with the 'on this tuesday...' and 'now i'm not saying player X is as good as player Y' type similar repetitive expressions along with the frequent allusions to drinking and/or being drunk. It's getting boring.

I like that we have a dedicated sports station in town, but I have to say the Fan took a huge hit following the cuts a year ago. There's less coverage during the day now but the problem is that the coverage we do get is also less engaging. It might be the mix of personalities or the marching orders they're given but it's not great.

Happy to see Pat climb to the top and become their bar none best host and radio personality after learning under the tutelage of some of the best over the years. It feels like I've followed his radio career from the beginning. It's too bad they either cut or lost every radio personality that was on his level. Now he is what pulls everything together. Pike is a good compliment to Pat, especially when it comes to the arena discussion. But otherwise he's dealing with the likes of Logo, who's just kind of vanilla, and the insufferable homerism of Wills.

I guess at least Nault we loved to hate and he could play the contrarian role. And losing Loubardias hurt bad too.

They just desperately need an injection of new talent on the station. And no Russic is not that. Listening to him I think he cares more about game lines and gambling than the actual sport.

I'd love to help BB in any way possible to boost their production ability and keep things running long term and the hosts reasonably compensated. It's like the old morning show but on steroids with all that they can say and do now.

I was on the fence at first, but now I go directly to YouTube for their reactions on every bit of Flames news that comes out.

Do Podcaseters actually get paid much?

They seem to get ads more gambling ads hurray. Outside of the big podcast companies do people use this is a main source of income or something they do on the side as a hobby that generates extra income?

Radio is dying and podcasts are really the way to go now. I don't really want to listen in for 2 hours to hear 30 minutes of what I wanted to hear you can just get it on demand later in the day.

Tell your family, friends, coworkers and fellow Flames (or sports) fans. Pretty much all you can do.

I find they lose some appeal in the summer months (with no Flames news to discuss), but the interviews they've posted lately have been A+. I've let my buddies know and they've all enjoyed the recent interviews as well.

Barn Burner has been a complete game-changer for my mornings in the office. I'm out in the Pacific time so it's a perfect start time of 9am. Fire it up on the side screen and enjoy with my coffee. I love the uncensored takes from the boys, it's very refreshing, and it's the best when Rhett gets hot and on a rant, very entertaining.
Been great listening/watching, it's made me more excited and dialed back into the Flames since I felt myself distancing from watching over the last season.

Shouldn't that be something they focus on for content going forward in the summer when news is slow or gearing up for camp more of these long form interviews. Maybe try to showcase a player a week or something might draw in more listeners.

The interview with Stajan was great and like I said Stajan made it great with his candid answers and giving us a real look inside the the dynamics of a team. I rather listen to that from them than hearing Rhett rant like an old bitter man.

That they've manages to make their summer content thoroughly engrossing despite the lack of news is impressive. They've really done about as well as they can.

I'm pretty sure any human (sports fan or not) would find Stajans interview worthwhile. The best and most poignant parts had nothing to do with hockey.

Take a shot every time you hear the word fascinating if you want to make it interesting for yourself.

I haven't had a chance to watch the Stajan interviews yet. Did he mention anything about coaching the Hitmen? I notice he is no longer listed as an Assistant Coach on their website.

He's still there. He's the fifth staff member listed.

Unrelated: I *love* listening to Boomer conduct interviews. He's so good at creating a really calm, conversational vibe.
Absolutely need to see more chip brackets. Heavy on the food talk if you please.

They know their audience.

with his kids getting a little older I think he's taking a step back, still with the team, as a skills development coach who isn't travelling with the team.

Show is fantastic. The interviews with Stajan and Regehr are probably some of the best NHL player interviews I have ever listened to. Having this type of discussion would never happen on the radio and Boomers interview style is differential. Also love the way that Rhett can probe in ways that non players wouldn't be able to. Hope they keep this show going. I make a point of listening...usually a few episodes behind from overseas.

The long form interviews have been great. Perfect for the off season.

I’m really curious about the economics of the show. Are there enough potential listeners? How many do they need?

I think it would be hard to expand past Flames Fans or locals.

I liked Vernon talking about what a great coach Badger Bob was. This is all far before my time as a fan, but sounds like Bob was really revolutionary and way ahead of his time in terms of respectful treatment of his players and setting a great team culture. No mistake that he was so successful. Tragic that he passed at the height of his career.

I’m enjoying the long form interviews. Probably an unpopular opinion but I don’t really enjoy the food chit chat etc and these interviews don’t have that. At least in podcast form I can skip though that stuff. Also,as a CFL fan I’m enjoying their sister show Live on the 55.
