Regarding Milano, keep in mind Sutter was a special advisor to the Ducks coaching staff for the 2019/2020 season. While Milano wasn't there for a long time that year, you can bet that Sutter definitely has some insights into the player.

I'm not opposed to Dube being in the top six, I just know that Sutter hasn't historically trusted him to be there - so I tend to not think of him in those terms. Like, it doesn't really matter where I think he should slot in - all that matters is where he's likely TO slot in.

Which is why I question the Pelletier thing. I can't see Sutter putting both Dube and a rookie on the same line. Although, I guess with Backlund now on that line, maybe it increases the chance of it happening.

What kind of contract is being predicted for Rodrigues?

I'm assuming he won't come in low enough to fit in the Flames current cap without shedding some salary?

You look at teams like Edmonton who have Yamamoto and Puljujarvi in a top six capacity or hell even Colorado now with Lehkonen and Newhook.

I don't see any reason why Dube couldn't/wouldn't produce 20+ goals, and 50ish points next season.

Edmonton and Colorado can get away with that cause they have arguable 4 of the top 10/15 players in the league? The Flames don't. I like Dube and he is a nice filler if injuries occur but ideally hes situated with Backlund on L3.

Hopefully it's just 1.5-2 on a 1-year deal. Moving Vali's contract would allow us to make that contract while re-signing Stone and Ruzicka
