Ya that was something else.

He has a penchant for blowing his first shot OB.

Connors with a rough day and sits DFL.

Gligic had a good round in Columbus and is in an eight way tie for 9th. Sloan one back and is T17.

Hopefully they can stay there and lock up their playing privileges for next season.

Sure, they'll have a case in the Saudi legal system. Should go well...

Matsuyama is the big one they're courting. Rumor is 400M offered.
Would be a big catch, no prominent Asian player has gone to LIV yet.

Gligic is T2 with 4 holes left. Very early in round 2, but he's playing well this week.

It's ridiculous. If true, no one could ever say no to that so long as they were comfortable that it would be fully paid.

I had read that Matsuyama has turned them down and is fully committed to the pga tour, but who knows these days. I also read his current endorsements are in the 20-30 million range per year, so he's in a position to turn them down if he's committed to still playing competitive golf.

I see Connor's DFL got him a solo tee time today and he's playing a bit better and opened a 3 hole gap on group 2. I don't think Dion's 1:15 is in any danger though

Gligic was the first one in at -8. If that holds up the rest of the day he will be in the final group tomorrow.

In a shocking turn of events, Rory didn't wipe his tee shot on the first hole 10 miles OB.

Rough day for Roger Sloan. +5 today and likely missing the cut.

One more guy to fade and he's in the final group (not sure if they are playing in 2s or 3s).

Gligic turned in -1 and is currently T6. Needs to make some birdies on the back to maintain his placement.

Open Championship winner Cameron Smith is expected to be among the next wave of PGA Tour players who defect to LIV Golf, sources confirmed to ESPN on Saturday.

Smith, the second-ranked player in the Official World Golf Ranking, will be the highest-ranked player to leave for LIV Golf, which is being fronted by fellow Australian Greg Norman and financed by Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund.

Australia's Marc Leishman, Harold Varner III, Chile's Joaquin Niemann, India's Anirban Lahiri and Cameron Tringale are also expected to join the LIV Golf circuit. Those players and Smith are expected to compete in LIV Golf's next event, scheduled at the International in Boston on Sept. 2-4.

Wow it looked like we were set up for a Sunday showdown between Scheffler and Schauffele when play got suspended. I look at the scores this morning and Scheffler went from a one stroke lead to 6 strokes once they finished the third round. Looking more like a coronation now.

Damn, that's too bad. I really thought this had the makings of a fun finish with lots of great names.

Well it’s not a coronation. Scheffler must be thinking about LIV because he’s doing his best Norman impersonation. Lead down to one after only six holes.

That was fantastic. This format can set up this kind of scenario. A leader who is not at top of their game getting chased down. Scheffler was really grinding (unlike Norman’s meltdown at Augusta) and deserves some credit.

A shame Rory doesn’t have more majors. He is the face of the franchise.

world No. 2 Cameron Smith and five other players have joined LIV Golf and will play this week’s event in Boston.

Joining Smith on the Saudi-backed circuit are Marc Leishman, Joaquin Niemann, Harold Varner III, Cameron Tringale and Anirban Lahiri.
