It clear that through our unbending worship of the Hockey God Snek, He has willed the Flames to make the playoffs. The Snek must be fed. Feed the Snek, and ride the Snek to glory.
Tomorrow night I will be curling during the Flames' game, so the red snake won't be posted until the wee hours of the morning. To make up for it, I present to you the western Canadian snakes.
The bitchy, blue snake, sometimes known as the bitchy, orange snake on other graphs, has dipped below the black line for the first time in 24 games. The confident, red snake has not played since last night, so that means the red snake is officially above the blue snake, black line, and green snake.
Here is what the snakes looked like when I posted them after all three western teams had completed game #59 in post #406: http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showpos...&postcount=406 I guess the motivation worked, as 9 games later the red snake made up the 10 point deficit, and added another one for good measure.

It kind of looks like the blue line actually goes down at the end. Like the embarrassing loss today was so bad they lost points. Thank you Paul Byron.

After 5 days off, the red snake is ready to rise again. I'm hoping the break energized the players, instead of making them complacent. The red snake is currently on pace for 86 points. This is not good enough. It will need 37 points in the last 26 games. That's a 18-7-1 record, or 1.423 PPG. This is your frequent reminder that the black line is 1.171 PPG.
Crazy how things can change in a month, back then going 18-7-1 seemed like a such a tall order to reach 96 points. Now the Flames really need to just go .500 to reach 96 easily.
What a run.
Go Snek Go!
