All you football experts weigh in on this. My sis is a big 49ers fan. Has been for 3+ decades. IS there any reason in the world as a 49ers fan, other than losing a bet, that you would EVER wear a Seahawks jersey if you were a 9ers fan? I told her she was breaking all the rules of being a sports fan. It's be like me buying a Leafs or a Dolphins jersey. Ugh.
You can't really blame any 49er fans for switching allegiances at this point, the organisation has become a disaster.

Also, the Seahawks are originally an AFC team and didn't have any sort of rivalry with the Niners until the past few seasons. I can see how a long time 49er fan would not consider the Hawks a major rival and would have no issue cheering for them.

Since 2001, Brady and the Patriots have played in Denver eight times and Brady is 2-6 in those games, a total that includes an 0-2 mark in the postseason.

To make things worse for New England, the only two wins that Brady and the Patriots have pulled out in Denver over the past 15 years came when the Broncos had to start Danny Kanell (2003) and Tim Tebow (2011) at quarterback.

I would think it is going to be the Patriots and Panthers in Super Bowl. I guess I missed the most exciting finish this past weekend with Arizona beating the Packers even with those two hail mary passes by the Packers. I am becoming Cam Newton fan lately. The guy can throw and also run.

Denver's chances Sunday will come down to creating some turnovers. Can't see their offense putting up more than 17 points.

I would say she really wasn't much of a fan anyway.

Anyone who puts on a rivals jersey wasn't much of a fan. Probably more of a "social fan".

Yeah, but to a Seahawks jersey? And I say this as a lifelong Seahawks fan.

I mean, let's say that the Flames become an utter disaster. Let's say it gets so bad, they make the Post-Lockout Oilers look competent. We're talking Mike Milbury Islanders level of awful. Meanwhile, the Oilers become a top team, go to the finals two years in a row, and win a cup.

In that circumstance, even if you got completely frustrated and couldn't stand the way the organization was going... would you put on an Oilers jersey?

I seriously doubt it.

I don't think the rivalry's really compare though. 49'ers and Seahawks is at best a recent one, and it was really one two years where both teams were any good. The Seahawks were in the AFC West when the 49'ers were in their hay day. So for a 49 fan to put on a Seahawks jersey to me would be more like a Flames fan wearing a Ducks jersey.

Hah, that's not even a rivalry. Too lopsided.

Maybe I should have used "It would be like a Penguins fan putting on a Flyers jersey"?

It only became in issue in the past 5 years.
When Seahawks were AFC, they could be fun to cheer for.
Then when they joined the NFC (well, rejoined, I guess) the 49ers were starting into their Oiler phase in the basement. It wasn't until there were regular meaningful battles for the NFC West crown that a rivalry formed.

So if your sister has been a fan that long, she may consider the 80s/90s battles as more true rivalries. For a long time the NFC West didn't have a team to rival the 49ers for long enough. The LA Rams were the traditional rivals.

In the modern era, it would now be the Seahawks. Although with York/Baalke leading the team back into the afterthought category, I'm not sure the 49ers will be able to hold up their end of rivalry; I hope I am wrong.

Oh I'm sure that gronk and edelman are questionable

Just save everyone some time and list the entire roster as probable. Denver's just as bad, injury reports are a joke.

The weather in Carolina could make things intreating.

I think the Patriots and Panthers re-enact the 2004 Superbowl.

Pats 17-6 over the Broncos
Panthers 24-21 over Arizona.

I see patriots 21 Broncos 17. Manning down by 4 has to lead a Td drive and throws a pick to seal it

Arizona wins a shootout 34-31

Pats win Super Bowl 27-21

Just a gut feeling but I think the Cardinals figure a way to win today and I do expect the Pats to win somewhat easily.

I hope Manning is able to turn back the clock one last time so we one last classic Brady vs Manning.

New England vs Arizona in the Super Bowl
