He said he would have to watch himself because the Canadians were dirty and always play a dirty game, but the Russians were used to it because they had played some games in Canada.

Pretty sure its Florida Panthers, 10 seasons. They finally broke it 2 years ago. Oilers have it in their sights.

Actually, the story on yakupov at the last world juniors was that he REFUSED to do interviews because he was struggling so much during the tournament. You couldn't keep him away from the cameras during the draft 6 months earlier when the questions were all about how special a player he was and how great it will be to go #1 overall. I remember him even jumping in on interviews with galchenyuk and gurgenson the day before the draft to get more exposure.
But when the questions at the world juniors were about addressing problems in his game and how he was struggling... He refused to do interviews. I knew from day one this kid had an attitude problem and I knew it would blow up in Edmonton's face. Happy to see them struggling with it.

Looks like the Oilers are going to be crowned champs in that category too as far Canadien teams go

That's what it was. So freaking cocky about it too. I just remember thinking thank god we aren't around that draft spot

Ryan Murray must slaughter a calf everyday in in thanks to the hockey gods. Columbus was going to take him whether they drafted first or second. He must be be extremely grateful he didn't end up where careers go to die.

If it happens, it happens. We'll have either laughed at Edmonton when we could have, enjoying much schadenfreude, or we'll have not. I'd rather laugh now.

If only there was a way we could have seen this coming.

Pretty clear he wants out of there. Larianov and him are just stirring the pot to make it happen.

Wow you must be a fan of mediocrity! The Flames haven't done squat or made the playoffs for going on what 5 years? Yeah the Oilers suck blah blah blah but it's pretty sad if that's enough to keep a Flames fan happy.

Hated rival for years, annoying fans that rubbed their top picks in our face, even more annoying media that praised the Oilers to no ends even though they showed little to no signs of improvement. Why wouldn't we be enjoying this?

Flames haven't done squat for five years, but its still more than your Oilers and that collection of first overall draft picks! I repeat, that collection of first overall draft picks. That means your team has sucked so hard that you have selected enough first overall draft picks that you've tied a record for futility, only seen once in the history of hockey!
Man, that never gets old!
To make it even more enjoyable, the Flames look to be better positioned in their rebuild than the Oilers have been in any of their, what is it, three or four, iterations of rebuilding. Amazing_flames!

I agree the Oilers have sucked it's not even up for debate. My point is he's saying how it's great to be a Flames fan at this point. I find that hard to believe since I don't think you're anywhere near a playoff spot and no matter how bad Edmonton is that doesn't get you any closer.
