ya, I really don't think Tom belongs on that list. I hope he's traded to the BJ's for Nash.

Who do all those guys belong to? I mean what NHL teams hold their rights.

But that's just me and I admit I don't know all those players really that well. But based on what Sven is doing in a tough league for scorers - I think he merits a higher ranking.

Ultimately it really doesn't matter though.

Keep in mind also that because of the turnaround needed for producing the mag - Sven's successful return from injury and his continued impressive point production would not have factored in to this list. So I think the small sample size in terms of games played probably played a huge role in his ranking.

I was a big fan of Sven before the draft and for me personally he would be #5 on the list.

Awesome. Do you think that we could obtain any of these guys in a trade this summer? If you look at a team that needs a goalie and has cap space (Sens) do you think they'd make a swap of Kipper for Zibanijad+? Or Iggy going to the Bruins for a package of Hamilton+ or JayBow going to the wild so we could unite the Granlund brothers

Doubt it. The Sens are rebuilding and the success they are having this year is gravy - they won't be giving up a guy like Zibanijad. And that's the case for most of these teams.

Kuznetzov is an interesting case because of the fact no one knows if he'll come over. But it would also seem that Washington has the best chance of convincing him because of AO.

Two of the guys on the list have been traded by the teams that drafted them: Coyle and Kassian. The rest are likely huge parts of their organizations futures and Calgary probably doesn't have the assets to go out and get prospects of that pedigree.

If there was one guy I would take a run at it is Colborne out of Toronto but I suspect they are more interested in moving Kadri who I would stay far far away from. Colborne is NHL ready though with pretty big upside. 'Course deals with Toronto rarely go our way.

Can't speak to a lot of those guys, but Scheifle's stock has certainly gone down in my eyes. He wasn't notable in the WJC and he hasn't really taken his game to the next level.
He's still a real good prospect, but his dominance at the U-18s last year and the way he progressed throughout last year's season seems to have stalled.

Dougie Hamilton has been an absolute beast in the OHL this year though.

Yeah Hamilton is right where he should be - the top ranked D prospect. Man the Bruins organization is just STACKED from top to bottom.

So, they are tradeable and in some cases a team will over pay to shore up a position. Kipper and Iggy are probably our best chance at getting anyone from this list. I think Iggy would DOMINATE on the bruins and I'd love to see Hamilton on the Flames, but after trading Colborne, would they trade another high end prospect... For Iggy I think they would.

Huberdeau for Kipper would be fun because the panthers need a starting goalie and have cap space, but would the give up a potential great offensive player for a year of Kipper?

For the Bruins to make a deal like that they have to suffer a huge collapse in the playoffs this year, otherwise they know they can win without sacrificing a big piece to get a guy like Iginla.

Florida would likely not have interest in Kipper because they have Markstrom waiting in the wings - and he could be ready as soon as next year.

The market for Kipper would be quite limited in my view. Toronto may be the best fit.

Kipper for Colborne+Monster+salary dump.

Assuming the Flames would be willing to trade Iginla yes.

There's the rub- something has to change either from the point of view of the Flames or Iginla. They have to be willing to explore a trade or perhaps the more likely (but still unlikely) scenario - Iginla has to ask for one.

In the current state - he ain't going anywhere.
