Well, Montana gets Central Arkansas on Saturday and Montana State gets New Hampshire.
The Bobcats definitely get the tougher draw but I don't see either team in much danger of being knocked out in this round.
Wofford better be in the backs of the minds of the Griz players though. They've been wildly inconsistent this year and played their best game of the year in Bozeman two weeks ago against their toughest opponent not named Tennessee.
Go Griz! Go Cats!

Chicago would have been great, but the Big Ten seemed unwilling to go outdoors, which is a shame. And who wants to go to Indy in December? If the game was in Chicago I'd be going for sure.

Even though it'd be outside and cold - how great would it be at Soldier Field? Like you could get Minny vs Indiana in that one, and it would be sold out and get ratings.

Yep, and Chicago is a city people actually want to go to. Ask anyone if they'd be interested in going to Indianapolis this weekend and they will stare at you blankly. Replace it with Chicago and people are signing up for sure. Add in the massive amount of alumni from pretty much every Big ten school in the Chicago area and it should have been a no brainer.
Yet another dropped ball by the Big Ten leadership, they've been brutal time and time again over the last couple of years. Almost seems like a sense of complacency set in based on their position as financial leaders. Not sure if they know this, but that gap is closing and closing quickly.

Wanting championship games indoors or warm weather places is annoying. I understand they don't want weather affecting the outcome so you can see the best of what each team has to offer, but this is the Big 10, they play in cold areas, just have the game outside.

It's going to be a real shame if Bama plays LSU in the national championship. How can fans that claim that the SEC is the best conference continue to say so if the best SEC team dodges the best non-SEC team in the title game. Ok St. could be better than LSU and Bama, but we would never know. If Ok State loses on Saturday then it's a moot point, but if they win they deserve to be in.
In 2006, a lot of Big Ten folks and others wanted a rematch of Ohio State - Michigan in the title game as they had a monster of a game to end the season. However, smarter heads prevailed and Florida got the shot and destroyed the Buckeyes and USC beat Michigan. SEC fans should feel the same way about this year. You can't claim conference dominance if you don't play the best teams from other conferences. Especially this year as the SEC really wasn't that amazing.

In full agreement. I would love an 8 team playoff or even 4 but won't hold my breath. I would settle for not having two teams that have already played from the same conference playing again for the title too. I really hope OK St wins and Georgia beats LSU just to create a little more controversy.

The big difference there is that Florida's loss was to a pretty damn good Auburn team and OSU's loss is to a pretty average Iowa State team. I'd rather see a new game than a rematch, but at the same time I don't see a team that really earned themselves a spot over Alabama, at best it's pretty much even between Bama and OSU.
I do think that winning you conference should be a prerequisite for participation in the NC game though, so I'd bar Bama based on that.

That's another reason I hope Georgia wins, they'd still put Bama and LSU in title game probably and neither won their conference.
OSU should also get a little consideration for the fact that they probably even could have postponed that Iowa State game due to what happened with the OK State basketball coaches that died the night before. Regardless of it's a different sport, the athletic departments are a pretty close group.

I don't think so. It was obviously a tragedy, and I'm sure it impacted players, but I don't think it was something that would have allowed a different team to postpone games and it definitely can't be used as any type of excuse for the loss.

I think they should have still gone in there better prepared and beat an inferior team, this is just something I've been hearing a little about. If they don't win tomorrow then their slim hopes at the NC game are shot anyway.

Alabama had their shot, they lost. Give someone else a chance. If Ok. state gets railroaded, oh well, it's not like Alabama can claim they never even got a chance and the process is "unfair".

As an LSU fan, I'm all for Oklahoma State getting their shot. I'd much rather play them than Alabama. Honestly, Bama outplayed LSU in the first matchup, and was let down by special teams and turnovers.

Nice inagural title game Pac 10. Oregon favored by 30.5. Stupid USC and their sanctions. That would have been a rematch worth watching in my opinion

I don't think OSU can either. They lost to a very average team, while Bama lost in OT to the top team in the country. I get the dislike of a rematch, I'm not a fan of it even though I the first one was a great football game, but OSU has nobody to blame but themselves.

The Oregon-USC game was the first college football game I watched that held my interest (still I only watched the 2nd half). But that said, that was one of the most exciting halves of football I've seen.
They should have a 8 team bracket.
First round
Top half
8 @ 1
5 @ 4
Bottom half
7 @ 2
6 @ 3
Whoever is the top seed in the game gets to host, until the National Championship which is played at a neutral site

Stupid NCAA and their sanctions more like it. Especially considering the pay for play standard that SEC teams have.

Did you mean to say "Especially considering the pay for play standard that a significant majority of competitive college football teams have"?
It certainly isn't isolated to teams in the SEC.

Houstons dream season is done. Lost to a Southern Miss team that looked pretty solid today.
