Are they still thinking about moving nik bujgstad? He is someone the flames should be interested in if available

Bjustad is a more realistic bridie target for sure. I dont know if he actually fills a need for us though.

Edit: whoa nvm. I didn't realized he had completely turned it around last season (14 points to 49 lol) definitely should be a target but now I'm thinking brodie is not enough

Also not even a remote chance brodie is close in value lol
Yeah, I didn't want to sound like a homer, but I'm not certain you could get Trocheck for Hamilton straight up. The Flames might have to add a late round pick or something.

Plus, I don't think the Panthers really need either of Hamilton or Brodie. Matheson is already a better defender than Brodie and his offense is nearly on par. Yandle is a smaller and less physical than Hamilton who is more of a playmaker than a goal scorer, but the players are relatively comparable.

If Treliving can pull off Stone for the Sens 22nd pick that would be a successful draft. Ottawa might do if they gotta keep one of there best players happy.

At some point the shoe has to drop with flames and RH D.

Hamiton is young. Hamonic isnt that old. Fox and rasmusen will need legit playing time. Its too crowded. One of them will be dealt in the short term. My guess is fox, he is skilled but the farthest out of all players from actually touching the nhl and heloing the team now.

Fox is only the furthest away because he is going back to university and does not have a contract. Many experts believe if he wanted to be in the NHL he is ready to play.

Bjugstad has moments where you can see him as a great top 6 winger/center, but there are other times where he frustrates you because he doesn't read the play well and it dies on his stick. He gives great effort, has some goal scoring ability, and some modest playmaking ability. Great size too at 6'6" and almost 220 pounds. Overall, I really like Bjugstad (I even have his jersey) but I worry that he wouldn't quite get the Flames over the hump offensively.

I think he would be a good acquisition, but again, I'm not sure the Panthers give him up just yet.

I'm like totally certain he has maxed out blackberries going and an extra two strapped to his head.

Or he's just finishing off an all night bender of $5 beer and shots and just crawled out into the sunshine.

Either or.

He and Stone are the only roster players of interest to me.

Of course based on the rumours last year, it'll probably be Zack Smith we get instead...

Solid deal. Money and term are almost identical. Fills a need for both teams.

Word is they are trying to trade Smith again. Dreger said flames were in on him at deadline and might still be. I really hope this is not the case

I would immediately lose what faith I have left in management if we acquired zack Smith. Pretty much guarantees no pitch for tavares lol

Zack Smith for Stone wouldn’t be the worst trade. It is probably close in value

Stone and Brouwer for Ryan with some retention. Then a healthy Ryan puts up 50-60 points on a line with Johnny/Mony next season.

I really hope we at least see Tavares go ~somewhere~ instead of stay with the Isles. Ideally to the Flames... hopefully not to someone else in our division. But in any case him moving would likely cause a domino effect of moves with teams trying to react. And frankly I just want to see some moves

retention would have to be 3.5M so close to 45% for it to be worth it IMO.

Ryan's contract is just so bad, it scares me.

I'm hoping the floodgates open here today, I think a lot of it hinges on JT's decision + Kovalchuk

I would donthe trade with zero retention if Ryan had the same term as Stone and Brouwer but with 4 years left the retention would need to be significant.
