Really looking forward to Spa this weekend. My favorite track with a real championship battle happening, awesome!

My favourite track too. Hope to drive on it sometime in the future.

My god that was impressive by Russell...I thought there had to be a timing error. Fresh Inter's made a big difference, but that guy just locked up Mercs second seat.

It was actually a used set of inters with that time, which I think made it a little more impressive.

I don’t recall the last time a race was straight up cancelled due to inclement weather.

For anyone wondering like me, apparently the event time is now 3 hours, not 4 hours. They changed it last year I guess.

F1 really needs a better way of handling rain out's, every other series seems capable of moving one day to the right. Giving points for a parade is just stupid.

That is so F1. Nope, won’t dream of moving it a day to actually get a race, but 2 laps of BS? F ya! Given how they dragged their feet on cancelled races due to covid I’m sure that was a very large part of the reason for running it today.

Lewis gave a scathing interview saying it was clearly all about the money. By classifying the race today they probably satisfied any number of requirements in various sponsor, broadcaster, advertiser etc contracts.

He repeatedly said it was unfair and that the fans should get refunds.

I don’t always like Lewis but I like that he has enough clout to at least occasionally speak his mind.

^exactly what I was thinking as they went out for the parades. F1 getting the race in so they don’t lose any money.

It may only have been the second lost race in many years but if they had a better back up plan how many marginal races could have been bumped.

At least no one got hurt. On to the next race.

Now, it is worth mentioning that he has an extremely strong reason to complain, given that this hurt him and helped Max but even if we factor for bias, I am no so cynical to doubt any sincerity at all.

In the words of Mighty Roy Kent, "Well that was ####."

Anyone collection points in our game should feel dirty about it. I know I will.

I mean I get why postponing it isn’t that easy like it is with NASCAR or Indycar. The logistics for F1 are vastly different with everything required to race. But today sucked.

For our competition. I say this week didn’t count. I made my predictions based off the fact it would rain but a 1 lap race isn’t a thing so let’s skip the Belgian GP

I didn't mind the decision, like Russell, as soon as I found out that giving half points and moving on was a thing in the rules I immediately thought screw it, that doesn't sound half bad to me. Obviously from a viewer point of view it's incredibly disappointing but, it does make sense

Or same as F1, just give out half points

It wasn't even a race, though. Scrap it and move on.

Yeah, I'm definitely of the opinion that we scrap all results from Spa for our pool. If there had been any green flag running I would probably include the results, but we pick our positions based on a race not qualifying.

Unless I hear some dissenting opinions I'll get the picks entered and can show what the picks looked like, but they will not be counted towards our standings.

And I'm glad so many drivers and teams have spoken out about it. Imagine having paid for that "race". I'd be livid to have stood in rain for 8 hours to see 2 safety car laps be called a "race".
