No kidding. What a joke. Absolutely unreal.

Directed at me? If so, lol. 20+ years of the Jays getting stomped by these teams (among others) and we got one year and both of those teams are already putting us back in our place. It's pathetic as a Jays fan. We just lost 5 out of 6 games to these teams combined when it really mattered, when WE were SUPPOSED to be the "contender" and those losses bumped us from 1st place to tied for the 2nd wild card.
Like I said, it's frustrating and not an overreaction at all.

Too bad. I still have faith. Looks like EE is about to go on one of his hot streaks and Donaldson has to be coming out of this god awful slump soon.
We have some very winnable games coming up against LA and the Mariners, hopefully we can make some real hay there. The Red Sox are playing entirely against the AL East for the rest of the season.
I think the Jays have a real shot. No team is free and clear of anything, the pressure is on the Red Sox, Orioles and Jays. The Yankees will come back to earth.
Go Jays.

Well, that was a roller coaster of a game. I love that the Jays are playing meaningful games this late in the year again. Two years in a row. Enjoy it.

Yankees and Tigers lost today, Orioles won.
Jays now tied with Orioles for the 2 wildcard spots, and Yankees and Tigers are both two back.
Missing the playoffs is now a very real possibility.
3 against the Rays, 4 against the Angels and 3 against the Mariners before we face the Yankees again.
6-4 would be good. 7-3 would be better. This looks like a breather in the schedule, but they need to step up.

What a fun wild game that was today... I know not the result you guy's wanted though. Bautista really just isn't performing well at the plate at all, not helpin his free agency argument.
Redsox now go to Baltimore for 3 games, then 4 in New York... Going to be a stressful week, and hopefully my team an do the Jays some favours by beating those teams.

I'm NOT happy with just watching meaningful September baseball. Anything other than playoffs will not suffice.
I said it before and will continue to say it again until they make it to the ALDS playoffs or this season is over: Anything other than playoffs and this season's a failure. No wildcard would be an epic disaster.
Playoffs or bust.
Will the good Blue Jays please stand up. Show you're for real.

Hard to say we got boned when they got the call absolutely right. Honestly, umpires should communicate like that more often, especially when the play has major implications on the season of both teams like that one did.
Also, New York confirmed the call on field - which means they saw definitively that the ball was foul. If the umpires had held their original call, it would have been overturned.

I think the Jays will crush the Rays. The Jays are due for a good run.

We've spent the last month playing like garbage in breather series. Even the Twins series we swept.
Hopefully this time around the Jays use the weaker opponents to get back on track.

Yup. Directed at you
We just watched a head-to-head, nose-to-nose, back and forth heavy weight battle. It could have gone either way but unfortunately didn't go the Jays way.... and yet all you can focus on is the last 20 years (which has nothing to do with the game today or even the last week) and call the Jays FODDER for a team behind in the standings and one that just passed them in the standings.
Complete overreaction

@thehazelmae: Gibbons said Sanchez is going to "get a break".. Give his blister time to heal. Likely pitch at end of west coast road trip. #BlueJays
@thehazelmae: Aaron Sanchez said he's not going to use the blister(middle finger)as an excuse for how he pitched today. #BlueJays drop finale.
@ShiDavidi: John Gibbons says Aaron Sanchez getting a bit of a break which should help blister. RA Dickey to pitch in Anaheim. Sanchez likely in Seattle
Dickey avoiding the domes.. this is likely a very good thing

They've been fodder for those teams the last 20 years and were fodder for them both again this week during the most important point of the season. That was the point. It's frustrating. I was hoping for at least one more season of being the team to beat before going back to being the Yankees and Red Sox bitches again.

They are now 8-8 with the Red Sox and 9-6 against the Yankees on this season. That makes the Jays their bitch?

What part of "this week" with everything on the line don't you understand?
Lol
Just went 1 for 6 when it really counts.

The only reason I didn't post my objections to it was to avoid another big argument in the thread. But since you asked I think this post was over the line too and not needed. Calling a player a dumb sack of crap is at best immature and at worst just an awful post. happy now?

I was afraid to return to this thread after the weekend series...but it really isn't that bad.
Hard to say I am anything but disappointed with the results again the Sox. It was great fun watching those games though (well, not the first one), so its hard to argue against that even with the loses.
They are still far from out of it, but it sucks we are now chasing rather than being chased. Need to focus on making up a game or two on Boston over these next 3 series that are played against non-playoff teams. With their final series being against BAL and BOS, they only really have to stay in touch right now and still have a shot regardless though.
