BoSox bull pen will likely lock it down from here.

I had finally managed to purge Storen from my mind. Thanks a lot!

My bad. I was the first to mention "he who should not be named".

I don't think you can say they didn't put any money in pitching. You say these things like they are fact, and they just aren't true.
They turned over their entire bullpen, and got Price and Buerhle ( huge contracts). Off their books. All they really did is resign Estrada and sign Happ. Happ worked out great, but let's be honest, he was a tier 3 free agent that was was way cheaper (term and money) than the premiere guys. Worked out great with Happ, but that essentially all they did.

I think Tulo, JD and Martin are the new leadership core of this team. All are total pros and would be good examples for the younger players on the team (if they really had any - but let's pretend they do)

This is a very good point. The Jays couldn't have expected Cecil being as bad as he has been. Aaron Loup has also been bad. The Jays were left with a gaping hole without having a consistent leftie in the bullpen.

How much did they spend on pitching last year relative to this year (honest question - I have no idea).

Price was only on the team at the deadline so it isn't like they removed his entire annual salary.

I think they made very shrewd moves with the rotation and generally it worked. I think making a pen is always tough - seems like you just need to piece guys together until you find something that works.
You need a solid closer, which they have, and then you need to figure the rest out. I think going out there and throwing a lot money at a pen can hurt you as much as help you.

I would have loved to see Martin work with Syndergaard. Oh well

Sigh. Most critical AB of the game, and the ump calls strike 1 on a pitch way out of the zone. Changes the complexion of that at bat completely.

Donaldson is completely useless at the plate now. Missed two meatballs to start the at bat. When he's hot, those two pitches are parked in the LF seats.

Man is this frustrating.

1 year is all we're gonna get?

1 year and then right back to being fodder for the Yankees and Red Sox?

Goddammit anyways.

Damn. Pretty sure that hit that angled panel in foul territory.

Where we really got boned here is them overruling the initial call so we now need conclusive evidence to call it fair, instead of the other way around.

Ridiculous that in this day and age we don't have a camera angle for that.
