I really don't understand the logic in rushing to book Ospreay/Strickland. They should have saved that match for a pay per view down the road. Also they're both faces, and Ospreay already has his mid-card belt. Seems like a lose/lose scenario. Just weird and random booking.
Also that Jericho "TV Time" segment yesterday was one of the worst bits of wrestling I've seen in a long time. Jericho has become poison for AEW. I wonder if he's doing it on purpose to "help WWE"? Nobody could think that was good television.

Panic booking, they haven't done a great job with Strickland since he won the belt.
I really don't think Jericho has been good at anything for a good long time. I really think Fozzy needs to go on a 2 year tour

It's weird because you had Ospreay talking about defending the belt all over the world and how it wants a long reign and to bring prestige to that belt (which seemed like a good move).
And now it's like Nevermind he's getting a title shot.

One thing TK got absolutely right was bringing Okada in as a heel. He's been absolutely crushing it in his current role.

I enjoyed the match. Although they could have promoted it better... or made it the mainevent at Forbidden Door itself. Rather than on a random Dynamite out of nowhere. It's crazy how many big international superstars show up without any kind of promotion or hype. The booking is absolutely abnormal.

Great promo as well. It's unfortunate he's vocal backstage, as one of WWE or AEW could really use him.

Just a reminder that who killed WCW starts today on Crave by the same group that has done Dark Side of the Ring.

Remixing some of Eddie Guerrero's storylines with Dom is pretty smart.
There were always the Eddie/Chyna and Dom/Rhea parallels...but that story ended with Eddie cheating on Chyna

Love how they're booking Bronn Breaker. He's a total badass. He could be the next Brock/Batista if they keep booking him this way. They need to eventually link him with Heyman.
Also good on Sheamus for putting over midcard talent. Many won't go to those lengths. Yet Sheamus is willing to put over someone like Kaiser. Who could be a good upper midcarder for many years to come.

WWE is firing on all cylinders right now. From Otis/Gable/AA/Zayn, to Cody/Styles, to Ricochet/Dragunov/Breakker, to Paul/Knight, to the Bloodline, to Gunther, to Dom/Liv/Rhea and the rest of the Judgement Day shenanigans... they've got me back in watching full time. The titles each mean something again, and continuity and long-term storytelling / booking is A+.
Trips was right - this is a new era. And it's incredibly refreshing. WWE hasn't been this exciting since 2016 when Miz and Bryan were going nuts on each other.

I would agree, I still blaze through things pretty quickly. but its a big improvement. Its become pretty clear that Vince was a major problem on the booking and writing side, and HHH is bringing across a lot of what he learned when he was running NXT.
They've also got a really good mix of young and veteran happening right now.
The woman's division is still strong, and maybe Becky's and Charlotte not being there is going to be a positive in terms of development.

It’s really impressive that they have this level of engaging storylines with the above group, and all in the absence of their best talent, it’s really allowed this next generation of wrestlers to get the tv time and writing necessary to pull the audience in. Once Rollins, Roman, Brock, Rock, Charlotte, Ripley, Lynch, Punk etc all return, everyone else will be elevated and there will be so many matchups to get excited about
I’m even excited to see what happens with Uncle Howdy/Bo Dallas and whomever he brings back into the fold to finish Bray’s stories

Also, the wrestling match quality has gone up quite a bit under Trips, I've noticed. I think they've given the talent a looser leash than what Vince had them at. It's awesome to see people like Ricochet and Dragunov given TV time - and trust - in their matches to put on bangers like they have been. WWE seems to have moved closer to the AEW mould in this sense, which is a good thing and a compliment to both companies.

Yeah the matches feel a lot less “hit my spot and then hit the next spot” it feels more organic.
My old complaint is just how completely Insufferable Cody is, and it’s gotten worse as champion. He was better when he was chasing (most babyfaces are I admit) but he’s just hard to stomach.

I tried watching it and just can't get into it. Too many legacy talent from the Vince era, overexposed on TV. I don't get the Uso/Yeet thing, all the women seem to have the same character, and I certainly don't want to see more Rock and Punk, and please please please don't put Lesnar on TV anymore (how often are they going to keep going back to those wells?) NXT also doesn't appeal to me much, but I understand it's for a younger audience.
AEW is having it's challenges too, but I prefer the underdogs and the smaller guys. Gonna keep my pulse on MLW, GCW, TNA and Japan. Variety is the spice of a wrestling mark.

I like both brands - I can get into both! AEW I watch for the in-ring wrestling talent and experience (and I think they have much more talent in this regard than WWE), and I watch WWE for the storytelling and increasingly, the wrestling too. I think we're spoiled as wrestling fans right now. It's great to have two companies going head-to-head again.
I'm also hoping that NJPW gets back into its glory days again, and in the shortest order. They have produced so many stars over the years, and their in-ring product is literally unbeatable by any company. They've taken some hits recently with wrestlers leaving / declining, and are now building the next chapter of stars. The industry desperately needs a healthy NJPW to solidify that quality foundation of talent through the main pipeline of United States/Mexico/Canada/England/Japan.

They've been here before, and it turned out amazing for them:

Personally I think they have some big assets on the horizon in both Shota Umino and Yota Tsuji. They're going to be stars.
