I appreciate PlayStation notifying me the day after the cutoff to renew that they’re jacking up their PS+ prices. Shrewd and savvy move on their part. Once again it’s Black Friday discount and back down to the basic level for me
I don't think a lot of Xbox owners will be put off having to wait seeing how long Starfield will keep them occupied.
Ah I dunno man, from what I've read and watched online those two games are in a different class of quality from each other.
Starfield will have a good life on PC with mod support and such but I expect it will be quickly forgotten on consoles. Baldur's Gate 3 seems like an all-time classic people will be talking about for years.

Hard to say as turn based D&D is still a bit of a niche and not as accessible to the masses. My boys won't touch it. It's done great on PC which represents the more hardcore gamers but console-wise I don't know if it will be nearly as big as Starfield with console players. Starfield is very high quality so I don't agree with your class and quality statement at all. This guy played and reviewed both and he in no way comes to that conclusion. Both games are amazing for different reasons.

Obviously there's a lot of people that really love it (which you may be one) but there's a lot of people who don't or are finding it just 'okay' -- far from the nearly universal overwhelming praise something like BG3 has received.
I'm with Cube on this one; anecdotally, I have several friends who have played Starfield for a high number of hours who say it is a good game but not 'great' as they expected.
Most if not all of my friends who have played BG3 have given it 10/10 scores.
I can't judge it myself as I haven't played Starfield, but I saw a video comparing No Man's Sky (after all their updates, granted) and Starfield, and I came away feeling like I'd prefer playing No Man's Sky myself if I were interested in a Space game.
Maybe Starfield will iron out a lot of the complaints that people have about it in later patches though. I will be interested either way.
The general rule is to always wait for the patches. Let stuff get ironed out, let those who can't wait play the dumpy version, and let the game settle in to what it eventually should be. I never saw the appeal of being a day 1 player. The norm now is to release games that are seemingly unfinished and iron it out later. I was fully expecting Starfield to be full of glitches, but to it's credit they don't seem to be as plentiful as I thought.
Still, I will wait it out like I do with every large release and let the kinks get out before diving in. Plenty of stuff on Gamepass to keep me busy until then.
I finished Sea of Stars today, and it's fantastic! You'll need to get through a slow start to the game to get to the good stuff, but I promise it's worth it. If you played The Messenger you'll especially love the game but it's not necessary to play it to enjoy Sea of Stars.
The visual and audio design deserves special praise. One of the strongest showings for a retro-inspired RPG that I've seen.

I’m getting near to the end and it is a remarkable achievement for an indie game. Up there with the best.
My copy of Driver - San Francisco showed up yesterday morning. I bought it for a song from the UK thinking nothing of it, until I opened the packaging and realised "Oh... this is a PAL region disc... sh-t." Many Xbox 360 titles were region locked, no idea if Driver - SF was region locked on consoles (it wasn't on PC).
It turns out it doesn't matter since Xbox backward compatibility only uses the game as a license and the console itself is region free. So the downloaded backward compatibility version plays no problem and I spent like four hours with it. So much fun shifting into oncoming traffic and retiring race opponents with boosted head-on collisions.
The version I bought out of the UK was ~$12 plus $3 basic ass shipping, compared with state-side copies fetching around $28-$30 plus $10-$15 in shipping.

The starfield talk made me load up No Mans Sky again. There must have been an update or patch and my save games are gone, and it would be such a grind to get good tech/ships again that I have little desire to.
It would be nice if there was a "replaying" mode, where you would get all tech/recipes unlocked and just not be allowed to trade with other players or something, given the little bit of multiplayer overlap.
I'm so hyped for FF7 Rebirth, I hope I'm not disappointed. Since the whole PS3 tech demo trailer, I think what I've really been waiting for was the Rebirth portion of the story, where you leave Midgar and the world just opens up. I'm really curious to see how they handle the world map, and hope to God it's better than what FF16 gave us.

Yup, however was in charge of the combat mechanics on FF16 I hope never makes another FF game again. That was more Devil May Cry than Final Fantasy.
