For a guy that didn't spend a lot of time on the PP until Barrie was gone, he still got almost 40% of this points there. I'd say they are pretty inflated regardless of when he joined the 1st PP unit.
If anything you could probably say he was an average 5/6 guy until he joined the pp.

Really didn’t have much leverage and I can’t imagine there was that much interest in an offer sheet. Risk on both sides of this but he’s betting that he continues to improve, the cap keeps going up and he cashes in 2 years from now either with the Oilers or someone else. The Oilers are in a 2 year window here, they either win and can hold things together because guys want more of that, or they continue to struggle and the walls will start to crumble. At that point Bouchard will be smart to leave and the Oilers won’t really need him if the big guys are making noise about going.

In 2 years McJesus' contract is up.

Bouchard gets easy PP points for 2 years then leverages that on an UFA contract knowing that McJesus is going to look for a new postal or zip code at the same time.
