Found another movie I’ll watch before Shazam. I like to put something on in the gym while I workout, just for background noise, and all I could find was Shazam or Hancock. No hesitation to go with Hancock.
Twister is still the best tornado movie. They did an incredible job seeing that it still holds up. Even the flying cows aren't as bad as some things we've seen on screen in recent years.
I always appreciated that they gave the twisters a distinct growl sound to make them more like monsters than just a wind funnel picking up debris.

Man I've only ever seen the first few seconds of that. The whole thing is hilarious. I saw Affleck talk about how he didn't understand at the time that the commentary was going to be like on the DVD with the movie.
"They don't know jack about drilling? What's there to know? You aim the drill at the ground."
Affleck should do a podcast where he just rips apart his movies. Some good options. Daredevil. Pearl Harbour. Gigli. Paycheck.

Twister is the best disaster movie. I don't think any other one really comes close either. I love me a good disaster movie but even the likes of deep impact, the core or anything else doesn't really comes off as plausible like twister did. Well maybe Dantes Peak comes close to semi plausible disaster scenarios.
Plus it was like one giant commercial for the new redesigned Dodge Ram back then. Sprinkle in some Phillip Seymour Hoffman rocking out to Van Halen and boom. Instant classic.

Does Titanic or Independence Day count as a disaster movies? Because that's my top 2 favorites. I also really like Airport, Towering Inferno, Perfect Storm, 2012 (it's not great I just enjoy it) and Day After Tomorrow.

Watched Near Dark, a great 80s Vampire movie that unfortunately came out two months after Lost Boys, and was completely overshadowed by it. While I enjoyed Lost Boys more this is still an excellent film. Written by Kathryn Bigelow, this is a more serious, more gory film than Lost Boys, it's a western horror hybrid, and Bill Paxton is amazing in it too.
80s had some amazing Vampire films, these two and Fright Night are all in the top 10 vampire films of all time.

I forgot how many major players they had in the cast. I remember being in the theater and someone behind us laughing during this scene. A lot of people consider this the best worst movie of all time. I just consider it one of the worst.
Those old disaster movies are legitimately my guilty pleasure. I freaking love them. Armageddon, Deep Impact, Dante's Peak, Day After Tomorrow, Twister, Volcano. Just so much dumb fun packed into all of them.

Have you seen Moonfall? It's basically every disaster movie rolled into one. It's laughably insane. If it had played itself for laughs, it might work,. But it's honestly just really bad. But maybe you'll enjoy it?

I half agree. They're also my guilty pleasure, but not the big budget ones.
I love the low budget ones with nobodies in them, but sometimes have a big name has-been.
Any disaster film by Asylum, for example, I'll watch. Just give me a small no name production company and a disaster, and I'm happy.
