So is condemning Ukraine (and supporting Russia) a right wing conservative stance now? Disgraceful.
It’s convenient to have a friend in US who is hard right. I enjoy the insight.
Anyways story goes like this. Ukraine is corrupt, the funds sent there are stoken by their government. Son why send arms there and anger Putin when basically who cares as they are corrupt anyways. Oh and some believe there are nazis there anyways too.
Conversation usually starts with “You don’t know how the world works let me tell you…”
I was looking through the replies to that tweet when I saw this and was kind of shocked. Like, are people actually comparing the Sustainable Development Goals to Nazism? Is that a thing now that people of a certain political stripe are doing?
Here's hoping that Bernier loses again and finally decides to do the right thing and leave.
Bernier did come across as a spoiled brat by quitting the CPC and forming his own party. Guess it’s his right but reality is he’s just benifitting the Liberals and NDP in the long run. Which is probably exactly what he doesn’t want to do.
Seems to be more driven from ego than anything else.
Pretty good final speech by O'Toole. A lot of his core message could be directed straight at Poilievre, and he even calls out the WEF conspiracy stuff.
He seemed to generally call out both sides of the fence with his speech. He definitely had some good points.
Not to derail, but what are the conspiracy theories about the UN that O'Toole referenced? I know of the WEF ones, but I didn't know the UN was also viewed that way.
Marco Mendicino is under intense pressure to step down or be fired over the Paul Bernardo communications.
He claimed not to have known, but his office received emails 3 months ago and 1 month ago about the transfer. So either he knew and lied about it, stating that he had just found out last week. Or his staff ignored the email or knew and didn't tell the minister. which means probably his deputy needs to be gone.
But Mendicino has been caught quite a few times being less then truthful, and one time of back dating court documents.

I thought the alt-right was AGAINST the World Economic Forum. I'm confused, why would they compare the WEF logo to their own?
Maybe that particular wacko just doesn't know that pin is the logo for the UN's SDGs.

I can get how people would believe a conspiracy theory about the WEF. It seems an easy fit with the idea of the global elite meeting in the Swiss Alps to scheme about the world economy every year. It's not that hard to spin a story of it as some shadowy cabal, Bond villain kind of stuff. Believing that stuff about the SDGs on the other hand is some other wild leap of insanity. Goals like making sure kids can read and people have clean drinking water hardly seem like shadowy cabal kind of evil to be equated with Nazism. I guess maybe it's just 'world government' paranoia, but it took me by surprise.

Remember that these are people who think that living close to your work and grocery store (15 minute cities) is government oppression.
Launching a probe to investigate whether or not a bank established by the Chinese government (a bank focused on infrastructure development in Asia) is dominated by Chinese government influence....
Did they think China wasn't going to have outsized influence in the AIIB?
Who does this not make them look stupid to?

O’Toole tried to be Liberal lite to win over Ontario and he just ended up losing the rest of his base supporters.
I agree.
Unfortunately, conservatives needed to win that election to stop the Liberals printing money that has gotten us into the mess we are in.
O’Toole strategy to get elected failed. Now we hurt.
As crazy as it is, I now almost want more years of Trudeau as PM. When we are in complete financial ruin, people will understand why not to vote that way again.
If conservatives win the next election, I don’t think they can fix the problems created by the liberals in just one term…

Chrystia Freeland is listed as a Governor for the AIIB….

That's not what actually happened. They were leading until the last month or so and then had a string of bad decisions and mismanaged news cycles. They basically fumbled on the LPC's 5 yard line. It wasn't a matter of him losing his right flank.
