The yotes would be adding something better than Domi and Hjalmarsson

I am going to go with unreal blockbuster here. What do the Flames have to add to Hamilton to get Domi and Hjalmmerson?
Gaudreau-Monahan-Ferland
Tkachuk-Backlund-Frolik
Bennett-Jankowski-Domi
Hathaway-Lazar/Stajan-Brouwer
Gio-Brodie
Hjalmmerson-Hamonic
Kulak-Stone

This is a horrible trade for calgary. Why would we trade hamilton away?

In what world is Bennet value equal to Domi? Bennets best season is comparable to Domi's worst season. Would love Domi but doubt flames could make it happen.

I would be all over a Domi for Bennett type trade honestly. I think both have kinda struggled outside of their rookie years and would be a good one for one type trade ~ Calgary most likely would have to add a prospect though.
The yotes have tried Domi at center this year and it just hasn't been working for him; so trading Bennett to Phoneix might help them get what they desire and allow them the time Bennett needs to grow at center where Domi would fit perfectly in on 3rd line duties this year with Jankowski and be able to get back to his explosive first year and a half before he started to dip.

I agree that the Flames would have to add to Bennett. However, at this point, i wouldn't be surprised if neither playet wants to stick with their current teams. Both probably want to restart their career.

Their value is equal, Domi has more assists and points and Bennett has 8 more goals. I'd say that is pretty equal.

Bennett has scored more goals than Domi over he past 3 years but Domi has more points. Domi has regressed each year after his breakout rookie season

I would rather trade a prospect for Domi if possible. Kylington+ maybe?
Bennett for Domi might not do much for the current roster.

Arizona trades their young promising players because they are on the cusp of a cup run?
If you want a player under the age of 25 from the Coyotes, you will be paying a premium.

Id be far more open to trading Jankowski + for Domi tbh. Keep him with Bennett on the third line as such:
Domi-Bennett-Brouwer or Hathaway
With progression hopefully in two seasons have Domi-Bennett-Tkachuk as out second line with backlund and frolik sliding down to the third.

Domi for Bennett is an interesting consideration.

No way I trade Bennett for Domi, but he is a player I'd investigate going after - but it'd have to be for prospects.

I really think Max Domi checks quite a few boxes for the Flames whomare looking for a winger that can play in their top 9. He does generate offense although mostly assists. He can play with an edge, and is only 22 years old. Our management staff is extremely familiar with him so they know what they would be getting. If they give up prospects it is okay since Domi is still very young and fits with the core of the team.
The downside is his lack of actual goal scoring, he is in division so the Yotes may want a premium for him, another left shot left wing so not filling the need for a right shot, and his declining numbers do not suggest he is going to solve the offensive problems.
For me personally I would package one Kylington or Fox with one of Lazar, Mangiapane, Shinkaruk, Poirer, or Klimchuk to see if that gets the conversation going. I hope to avoid moving Bennett, Andersson, Valimaki, Dube, Parsons/Gillies, or more picks for him.

Domi is exactly the type of player that we should move our defensive surplus of prospects for.
Adam Fox seems like a perfect sell high opportunity.

Why would anyone want to trade Bennett for Max Domi? How friggin' high are you people?

The only way you consider moving fox is if the organization believes he won't sign. A few pundits have him as our top prospect.
I question what kind of value Lazar, Shinkaruk, or Piorier have outside the organization. I don't think any moves the needle much in a trade negotiation.

What is it that you see that has Bennett head and shoulders above Domi? Domi's 52 point rookie season beats anything Bennett has been able to muster pretty handily.

Not sure about Fox or even Domi but I agree with general idea. The Flames have very poor prospect depth at F but a surplus at D and hopefully G. This is a good way to rebalance

I know everyone here is all about the big name acquisitions. But I wonder about a guy like Josh Leivo from the Leafs. In the games I’ve seen him play, he’s looked very noticeable. Guy appears to have a nice set of wheels, is strong on the forecheck and can even score goals for a bottom 6 guy. Bet he wouldn’t cost much at all. Maybe a Poirier or a Wotherspoon.
